When I received this, I felt like I just received some half-assembled DIY project from Wish. You're expected to put the face-place on yourself, which itself has no alignment pins (not even to align top/bottom), secure it with a locking nut, and then put the knob on. OK, great. Simple enough, but it already strikes me as something being wrong with this product's design - no other switch, ever, has asked me to put the switch together.Let me reiterate that for those that are skimming. NO OTHER SWITCH. EVER. HAS SAID "SOME ASSEMBLY REQUIRED". So yeah, I'm going into this with a bit of a confused mind to start with. After I get the plate on, wire the switch up, and install it... I'm left with a face plate that's too large to sit with the cover plate which, already frustrating enough, not only wasn't included, but wasn't even an easy selection. I had to sift separately through Amazon items to find a matching face plate, and hope it was the right "hue" of Light Almond. I got close enough, I guess. But what I wasn't expecting, was that the plate was too large for the hole, in all dimensions... OF A STANDARD FACE PLATE that's been around for decades. So I have to go get the trimmers and hack and slash it down to size to fit flush with the plate... which is what I expect for any wall switch. So now we have (1) a DIY assembly task because they were too lazy to put the SKU's color plate on the switch, and (2) a phoned-in design, too large for a standard hole, that's probably for some proprietary face-plate that they INEXPLICABLY don't provide with the device itself. Icing on the cake is (3) a switch body that's 2-3 times larger, in volume, than the components inside need it to be. So it barely fits, literally with 0mm clearance on all sides, inside the box I'm putting it in.A bit miffed, I get out the cutters and finish the job. And then it doesn't even sit flush, it pokes out like a sore.Look, Woods company. Fitting of a switch in a wall plate has been a solved problem for how many decades now? I can buy a WiFi-enabled smart switch (if this switch had a working ground), and fit it in there, and never have to worry about what plate fits it. I can buy any number of switches from any manufacturer, and they'll fit, perfectly flush, in the same way as every other switch. Why would I have the expectation that your wacky-wonky mounting mechanism wants me to put the final (close-out) panel on the switch FIRST, and then install the timer plate and knob? Why in God's name would any person think that is what you expect us to do? Why do you design your product to need it that way? Do you find it difficult to simply design a timer knob that mounts flush like everyone else, and feel like you need to be Special and Different?Just no. Let this be a warning to anyone shopping for this: this switch is mounted unlike anything you've ever seen before, and the pieces come separately because they want to be "special", make you confused, and end up doing the wrong thing out of intuition instead of the weird "right" thing that they bury in small print, quietly, in a map-sized fold-out document... for what is, truly, the equivalent of a standard light switch.

These times took about 5 minutes to install. Works great. Also they work with standard switch plates so you don't have to buy the rectangle cutout plate. They do click as they count down, which for us is not an issue. Note that the markings are tiny, but normally you switch for 1/2 hour and so again not an issue.

I purchased this product on April 3, 2023. It broke on December 10, 2024. That is unacceptable. This product should last for quite a few years.

Put in 3 of these. They work fine. They are the old fashioned spring loaded type so not much to go wrong and simple to set.

These are large timer switches. I had no trouble fitting them in the box beside the light switch, but our home has deep light switch boxes with plenty of room behind. Some boxes may be tight. This switch lacks a ground screw connection, which seems odd for a switch with a metal front plate.I was using the switch with a non-decorator cover plate. The timer scale plate can be used over a non-decorator plate but I had difficulty getting the threaded bushing to engage the front plate of the switch thru the opening of the plastic cover plate. I wound up gluing the timer scale plate on to the cover plate. I also switched to 6-32 flat head screws to hold down the cover plate as the usual oval head screws interfere with the timer scale plate.I selected this model because it advertised being compatible with conventional cover plates, so I did not have to change out to a decorator light switch.

The average timer switch seems to be made almost with the assumption that no other wires/switches exist in the electrical box that it's being mounted in. We all know that's not a good assumption! For example, I mounted this in 3-gang elec box with two other switches. There were TONS of wires in the elec box and not much room at all to mount the timer switch. Thankfully, as I stated, this switch seems to be slightly shallower than many others, allowing me to squeeze (and I mean squeeze) this switch in and complete the installation. The 'squeeze' part was the only difficult part of the installation - everything else with it was a breeze.Good quality switch - good price - nice size/depth advantage. Nice faceplate.(please excuse the dirty label tags in the photo!)

I use it to control my mixer in which I knead bread dough. Works fine. I don't need to be attentive to the time. The timer takes over. Thank you.

Works well, beware the mechanical noise is loud and can be annoying. The unit is a little too big for the hole in my wall but I figured a way to insert it nonetheless. Also, the plate is meant to go outside the socket, not inside. See picture. So choice of color is important...
