Your cart is empty. Bolivian rosewood, morado (machaerium acutifolium) South America. This wood is deep, dark, chocolate brown to purple-black in color with occasional strips of even darker grain patterns. This species is hard and heavy with a fine texture in variable tones and when worked, exhibits a smell reminiscent of walnut. It machines well with sharp hand and power tools. It is excellent for turning. Larger blocks are +- 1/4" of size listed, smaller blocks +- 1/8". Spindle stock (1-1/2" - 2") dimensions are +-1/8". Grain runs with the longest dimension.

I build custom Ukuleles & Steelstring guitars, I have bought alot of Rosewood ect. I just went too use this price for a fretboard too find that the board is Twisted, I would have too plane this down to an 1/8" or less in order to straighten this out. Beware of low priced wood.

Warped and 1 cupped one pretty grain the other has 3 knots in the middle and is pretty ugly contacted rockler by e mail with pictures. Told to go through Amazon for authorization to return. I shouldn’t have to do all this rockler seems to have quality control problem. Now have to reorder with Green Valley this wasted my time and cost me a coutomer
