All of the pieces were very close in color by species and were S4S. Very nice usable lumber.

So far this product has the best price for the three type wood for cutting/eating surfaces. My bro has made about 10 or so of these charcuterie boards for family and friends and may make more. At first we bought the more expensive ones but, soon found this offering and bought it. Only one board, so far, had an imperfection which was sand able.

This bundle of woods has been purchased several times. I used the wood to make tri colored.cutting boards. This seemed to be about the best deal that I was able to find for online lumber orders.Wood Chuck cuts the lumber to length. all boards are square or rectangular with the faces planed smooth.Lumber received to date is relatively clear w/o knots for the most part.

The cherry is pretty good. But walnut had a lot of sap wood and maple is very dark. Its a little hard since i wanted to use maple as accent pieces . I guess you can try but i am really disappointed with the maple pieces.

DO NOT BUY!! The product is marketed as ready to use out of the box. They are not! Not only were there different thicknesses, warping and and but they also had knots, holes, checks were other major flaws limiting the use of the blanks. Very poor quality. Furthermore, The seller hasn’t responded to my concern or accepted a return request.

Some pieces had defects and could not be used for my purpose. Some of the pieces had damage that happened during milling, careless handling. Probably won’t buy again and won’t recommend.

I have bought at least 5-7 of these. In the beginning, all the wood was acceptable and generally uniform in color (although I did have to send one order back due to several blown out boards). However, the last three or so have been much less uniform and consistent. The maple is particularly bad. Instead of a nice uniform light color, the boards are either entirely grey...un-maple color...or even worse variegated light and ugly grey. I make end grain cutting boards and because of the inconsistency of the color, they are useless to me. Eight of the 10 boards in my last two orders were unusable. The cherry is a bit better...but again variegated color. Finally, the walnut is the best and has the highest color consistency. With the attached pictures, I'm hoping readers will see the difference between boards with consistent color and grain and those without. It is especially onerous in the second zig-zag board...the patterned is ruined. The maple in the second basket weave shows how distracting the inconsistency is. I included a pic of the tumbling block board just because it is so cool and you can imagine what it would look like if the maple was like the second zig-zag board. The tumbling block board was made from locally sourced wood. Now remember, I have specific needs and the color consistency of the cross section is critical. If this is not an issue for you, then you may be very happy with the color differences and might actually want it. To their credit, the dimensions of the boards are generally spot on and a warped board is relatively rare. I have decided to buy boards from a hardwood lumber yard here in town going forward. It might be a bit more expensive, but I can pick my boards out individually and get the consistency in color that I need. The bottom line is that I really like the idea of being able to buy this particular mix of boards (it's the three species I use all the time), I like that they are delivered to my doorstep, and I think they are a good price if they fit your needs. They are just not the answer with my requirements.
