The downside to these replacement bits is that in order for them to work in the Fuller countersink bit base, you need to grind a flat area on the bit itself. Otherwise the set screw has nothing to bite into and the drill bit itself will spin and/or fall out.

It fits into the countersink I have. It makes a hole. However, it isn't particularly sharp and burns through plywood, MDF, and fir. I call it "old smokey". There is also a bit of tearout at the back end of the hole even with a backer board. Also, tip of the bit is wide and sort of rounded, making precise alignment a bit of a chore. I typically use it in my drill press, which reduces the above problems compared to using it free hand in my cordless drill.
