I always wait on writting a review until I have had time to actually use things I purchase. With that being said, this adds the ability to set the depth of table saw blade and router bits, as well as being able to repeat the depth later. so far I have not had any issues. The battery life is pretty good but I turn it off after each use.

Good enough, but would have been better in metal

This tool makes it so much easier to set router bit and table saw blade heights.

Very neat for setting blade and bit heights, measuring groove depth and such. Lighteweight, comfortable and accurate. A microadjustment wheel would be an awesome addition, as sometimes when you want to set a precise measurement, getting it dialed in can be a bit fiddly, but for the price, I can live with that.

This is a great gauge, particularly for setting table saw blade heights (in either Imperial or metric). The locking screw is helpful to ensure readings don't move when the instrument is moved. I particularly like the included stylus which allows depth measurement of holes below the surface level of the "feet/legs".
Great looking product

Glad I bought this. I use it for measuring height of features which the caliper has difficulty in measuring

I like digital displays because they seem so sure and confident. I tend to futz around on my setups and I would like to do them faster. I purchased this in hopes of increasing both speed and accuracy of my setups.I was very pleased with the build quality and design. It repeated measurements well and was easy to use.The real test was whether it would increase the speed and accuracy of my setups. I did a test where I routed five 0.25" wide by 0.25" deep grooves in a board 0.5" apart. Each pass I would reset the router bit depth and of course need to measure and set the fence. I did this with both steel ruler and the Wixey. The first couple of setups with the Wixey took a while to get everything setup to within 0.002. But as I figured out how to hold the gauge and adjust the fence/bit depth things went much faster.I cannot say that it was faster using the Wixey than it was a steel ruler. As for accuracy I had mixed results. With the steel rule the average error at the fence was 0.0034 and for bit depth was 0.0038. Even at this level of accuracy I would need to make a couple of test cuts and machine adjustments to get the correct joint fit. With the Wixey I had an average error at the fence of 0.0138 and for bit depth 0.0020. The Wixey was better at setting the bit depth than it was at setting the fence.I don't see that the Wixey would allow me to avoid making test cuts and machine adjustments, nor do I feel it made the setups any faster. I am inclined to think that it would not make a significant difference in my woodworking.

Simple, accurate, and cost effective.I bought this for use with my table saw and my router. It works as advertised. If you are on the fence, you might as well get it. Knowing that you can position your bit or blade within a thousandth of an inch is a very satisfying feeling. If you don't have a place to store it, the package can be reclosed very easy.My only complaints are that my saw and router table have aluminum tops, and therefore the magnets don't work. I would also suggest marking where the center of your blade is on your saw top for more accurate positioning. The legs are a little flimsy as well, but it comes with the territory as it is plastic and very affordable. I usually end up holding it down with my index and pinky fingers on the feet and adjusting depth with my other hand.
