It's a filter alright, does its job. You should not use this gasket and instead reuse the OEM if in good shape or source a Mahle W39141 for the 4R70W, as they are much better gaskets and intended to be reused.Made in Taiwan.

I had a transmission leak and the shop wanted to charge me $500 so I took matters into my own hands 😂. Popped the old transmission thingy off, cleaned it, replaced old filter with this filter, and I will say I didn't use the provided gasket (it was too flimsy for my liking) so I purchased gasket sealer instead from Walmart and that stopped the leak. Filter works excellent and was easy to install. I would recommend this kit if you need to change your transmission and don't wanna pay out the ass at a shop ! Take heed with the provided gasket as I mentioned before, not sure how well it would perform

This Wix Filter looks as well made as OEM that I removed. I did not use the gasket provided, I used the old gasket and it has't leaked after several days of testing. The gasket that was supplied with the filter looked fine, it's black rubber and is fairly thick and wide. It took awhile to seat the new filter into the transmission, had to wiggle and push. Remember to remove old gasket from OEM filter that gets stuck up inside valve body. This is not a hard job but be prepared for transmission fluid spills.

I have been using Wix products for years. I have always had a good experience with their products. The transmission filter seems to be made very well. It feels sturdy and looks identical to the OEM filter that was installed. I had no issues with installation. Only time will tell how good it filters. One of the reasons I bought a WIX filter is because it is an American company and most of the products I have bought from them are made in the USA, Canada or Mexico. I was very surprised to see "Made in China" stamped on the filter. This may not be a concern for others. I do recommend this filter but will probably look for one made in the USA next time. The price difference between the WIX and other brands made in the USA is negligible. If you are using this filter on a Ford, do not bother using the gasket it comes with. Use the Original one. It is designed to be reusable. The WIX gasket will probably leak. Save yourself the hassle and don't bother with the new gasket.
