I have used these often in the past and find them to be a good value and perform well on my car. the issue is although they are usable, the are shipped in a bubble wrap envelope rather than a box and arrive with the protective film on the bottom which is installed at the factory torn off. Not tidy. Amazon, please start shipping in a box.

This is a very good high performing filter I use with full synthetic 5-20W oil. I read lot of reviews about the various quality issues and I'm glad I did. I found out that the basic Fram filter I'd been using is junk. Very poorly made with cardboard end caps and less filtering capacity. Live and learn. I'd rather spend a few dollars more and know that my engine is well protected. Highly recommended.

So far these appear to be made with quality in mind. However 1 of the 4 that arrived came in a dilapidated box. Upon closer inspection and comparison to a previous brand i use, it contained a dented filter, suggesting its either a return got dropped. I will update my review after my next oil change.Update: Amazon has gracefully refunded me for the dented filter which i will cut open to compare with the AFE d2 proguard i normally use. 5 stars for Amazon. 4 stars for the filter.Update: after using an AFE pro d2 filter, this filter seems to have a bypass psi that matches the Subaru spec exactly and superb anti drainback valve and integrated bypass valve. 5 stars to WIX

Always been a fan of Wix filters just because they're known for delivering a quality product at a competitive price. They're a company that solely focuses on filtration so that's how they manage to produce and engineer some of the best automotive oil filters on the market, instead of subcontracting random factory's like other big brand name filters.If you look at how these filters are constructed you can see how they're superior to other value competitors with the components they use such as metal end caps, and a metal coil spring for the by-pass valve instead of a weaker leaf spring. They also use a wire mesh surrounding the synthetic filter media to give it more rigidity, so that you don't have to worry about the filter media failing or collapsing. All made in the USA!Repeated oil analyses from black stone labs always comes back with stellar results when I use the Wix XP Synthetic filters with next to no contamination detected so I can guarantee you that you can trust this product for your car!
