About this item

  • 【Activated Alumina】utilize premium quality raw material with an extremely porous structure and high surface area-to-mass ratio, high strength against crushing and very stable physical and chemical characteristics, even in high temperature and corrosive environments. At 77℉/25℃, RH90%, it can absorb more than 30% of its weight in water vapor. Each bead is 3 – 5mm in size.
  • 【Activated Alumina】which has excellent porosity creating tortuous paths and extended surface area can be used in both heated and pressure swing dryers. It has stable physical and chemical characteristics, even in high temperature and corrosive environments.
  • 【Activated Alumina】has a wide variety of applications, including compressed air and gas drying. In compressed air and gas drying applications, activated alumina can achieve dew points -100°F/-73℃, depending on the dryer. It is suitable for deep drying under pressure greater than 5kg/cm2.
  • 【How to Use】: Place activated alumina into watertight dryer or container and then place dryer or container into the compress air or gas system. Desiccant Activated Alumina ( Aluminum Oxide) Desiccant is perfect for drying air and most other gases with relatively high humidity.
  • 【How to Regenerate】: 1. Use the dry gas under lower pressure or higher temperature to pass the activated alumina. 2. Use wet gas which is heated or decompressed to pass the activated alumina. The reusable activated alumina beads desiccant dehumidifier can be reactivated by placing into the oven for 8 hours at 200°C-250°C (do not over 250°C).

Surprised by how well this lowers the humidity in an enclosure. Be aware it is not as fast as silica beads, but is much more absorbent. I use this with a Powder Shaker (found on Amazon at www.amazon.com/dp/B0824XK6PN) for the center of 3D Spools in my Bambu Labs AMS. I also use both Silica Beads and this in a custom holder for dryboxes to store 3D spools.

Perfect for my 3D printer filament

I use this in dry boxes for 3D printer filament and it seem to get things to a lower humidity than the gel beads and packs I've used before. I have seen some types of beads swell and break into little annoying bits so I decided to give the alumina a try and glad I did.

These take my 3d printing filament storage and my AMS to levels of humidity that are lower than the sensors can reliably measure. They also last longer than the silica I used in the past. Finally a few hours in an oven recharges these so you don't waste money.A better value and better performance than silica!

These have worked much better than silica beads for keeping my 3d printing filament dry. They do make a little dust which I would avoid breathing when pouring them but otherwise perfect

I use it inside of my 3D printer and AMS and it has helped a lot with humidity.

This would be great desiccant however it was crushed. Therefore the seal was broken and moisture has been allowed. Yes they're rechargeable but that's not the point.

I purchased this based on a recommendation from a Youtube video, switching my silicate desiccant over to this.Super happy with the results! I have switched all my storage containers to it, and used tea bag strainer containers and placed them in the middle of my open filaments as well.If you use tea containers as holders, you can throw the containers in the oven too, and not have to dump out the alumina to dry it out. This has a HUGE difference over the silica, I get way lower humidity when it is fresh, and it lasts WAY longer between needing to be dried in the over.5/5, highly recommend this!
