wiring diagram

  • Wiring method:
  • - Black to ground
  • - Red to power
  • - Yellow and white are in and out
  • - Blue is the antenna cable you will need a winch solenoid to be able to hook up this Wireless remote
  • Note: This is a remote that works with a relay that reverses the voltage to the winch motor. If your winch has a built in relay, you would have to determine the correct solenoids to connect from the remote module. If your winch does not have a relay built in you would need to purchase a relay.

I bought this last September to go with my new Smittybilt 9500 XRC winch. We finally got around to wiring everything up last night. The winch works fine with the corded remote, and this wireless remote worked in testing. Once. Now it's dead to the world. Disappointing.Update: I finally got around to ordering a replacement. I butt connected all wires to the original wires color for color. Red is definitely going to positive and black to negative. I pushed the out button once, heard a noise from the wireless control box and nothing. As I was poking around the wiring, I noticed there was a rattle coming from the control box that wasn't there before. I shook the original box that I had just removed and there was something rattling around inside as well. So I busted into it and found that two power regulators or whatever those things are had blown completely off of the circuit board. I bet the same thing happened with the replacement. I'll give it one more try and return it as defective for a replacement replacement.

The remote control to my Snowbear snowplow winch stopped working and the replacement part for Snowbear is $150+ plus we had a big snowstorm coming in two days. I looked for alternatives and realized it used a proprietary connector, so I just ordered the first inexpensive remote I found (this one) that would come in time knowing I'd have to do some wiring.Connecting this up was pretty simple. I cut off the connector and some wires from the prior one to reuse the connector. Double checking the wiring diagram I connected all the blacks (negative) together, connected the red (positive) together which supplied power. Then connected the two control wires for the relay to the control, one each to the other wires. Since I am controlling a plow it didn't really matter which was "in" vs "out" as long as I could control both directions.Anyway I wired it up quickly and it works great. I'm legit impressed by this inexpensive control. The control box itself is much smaller than the original, has the two remotes, and seems to have better range than the original. The original would sometimes momentarily stop and continue while controlling from the cabin, but this one has no trouble staying on.

I got used bumper with a winch on it made by barricade. It didn't come with a controller I contacted barricade and they said they don't sell replacement parts if it were still under warrantee and it broke they'd send a new one but other than that your on your own they don't sell replacement parts. Needless to say I was pissed off at them and I started looking into other options and it was impossible to find one that fits their plug on the control box. So before I spent 70 bucks on a controller and plug to wire into the box I figured Id try this since it was so cheap. Well Sofar I'm very happy with it I still wannna get a wired controller for back up in the woods. It took me 5 min to wire it up and it worked great. It does have a 1 second delay (it doesn't start working till the button is pushed for 1 second and continues to run for 1 second after the button is released takes a little getting used to but no big deal) My only other issue is (to be fair its an issue with the winch not the controller) there is no kill switch on my control module so if you accidentally hit the button winch will spool. I'm going to wire the winch to a relay that's switched in the cab so I can kill the power when I'm not using the winch. just something to think about if your gonna get one. However it is really nice to have a wireless controller!!!!!I do recommend one!!

Delivery was prompt, item was as pictured/described and undamaged. Installation on Kawa Mule w/Warn 3,000 took less than an hour even given the tight location of my solenoid. Once connected I tested each of the included remotes and they performed well out to fifty feet (to the end of my winch cable, didn't test for any further distances). The way I connected it allows me to use in-cab as well as cabled and wireless remotes, providing maximum convenience depending on the pull. Considering the cost of the 'brand name' wireless remotes, I'd suggest giving this one a shot first.UPDATE: I bought a second (additional) Liebmaya wireless remote for a SuperWinch TS9500 I have mounted on a removable winch cradle. I wired it as I did the first unit so that I can opt to use either the wired remote or one of the two wireless units (this is a 'hot swap' setup, movable from vehicle to vehicle, thus no hardwired in-cab option). Speaking of the wireless remotes, they seem to work out to the full cable length of 95 feet! Including changing two of the ring connectors to a larger size, install of the second remote took about 20 minutes, with the receiver unit mounted inside the SuperWinch solenoid housing for weather protection.Bottom line, one or both of these units could fail next week (I'd update this review if that occurred) but unless that happens I think these are very serviceable units at a bargain price and I highly recommend them.

Update: new one came today. Cut and reinstalled a larger connection on the ground wire that was on this item. Connected it to the ground from the plug wire that connects to the winch. Hooked everything else up same as before. Works perfectly. I am very pleased. Gave it 4 stars because of the first issues.I installed this on my Ramsey 8000. Once install, I pressed the out button, worked perfect. Then, I hit the in button, and nothing. Just one click. I double checked all my connections, still nothing. Then I pressed the out button again, it then made a click, now nothing. This is not hard to install. Red to red, yellow to yellow black to black and (on mine) white to green. I am returning it, and Amazon is sending another one out. Because of the other reviews and how easy it was to install, I will give it one more shot. I will update on the status of the next one. As of right now, this goes in the, you get what you pay for box.**Note, I did get excited when the remote first sent the winch out. That was cool to not be plugged in.
