They're made to fit tightly on a 3/4" or slightly smaller wire shelf leg. My wire shelf is a bit larger than 3/4" so it was kinda frustrating. They were so tight I had to work on them to get them to set in the grooves and kept popping off since you have to put on all 8 clips (halves) then lower down the shelves on top. Once on they work fine. I'm getting a second set since I have another 3 shelf short shelf with slightly skinnier legs so they fit perfect. I have 10 halves left over after putting together my 5 shelf unit so I'll need to buy another 50 piece set to use 14 of them. Overall I'm happy considering what I paid.

It wasn't that long ago that lock clips for the 3/4" tubes were even available. They worked like OEM and don't seem as brittle.
