These are very thin. Can't guess the mil and thickness of the coating, but it's not much. If you hold them up to a brightly-lit area, you can pretty much see right through them. For an indoor grow, better than nothing, but not great.

Products like these should be used in all construction projects. My hime built in 1921. Used in conjunction with plastic on the windows. Has made a real difference in my bills. Can also be used on walls to help insulate.

Needed to adjust the lighting in a greenhouse.The mylar is identically reflective on both sides and equally translucent on either side. Excellent thermal insulation. I was able to fold and refold, crinkle and re-adjust the mylar multiple times. As long as you take your time and don't rush, the material doesn’t tear. Too many refoldings along the same fold can split the reflective coating and sharp edges can scratch the surface. Overall, great product for the price.

I had no intention of using these as a blanket. I bought them because I wanted to make a highly reflective surface around a wire shelving unit where I have hydroponic lettuce growing.I know I can just go out and guy a grow tent that has its own shiny internal lining, but I didn't want to. I wanted to use my existing wire shelf rack with a removable siding. So I purchase these because they were very large and wouldn't require me to piece many of them together sloppily. So I gook an old box from a TV I had sitting around and some spray adhesive and simply cut my box into pieces (2 pieces for front and back, 2 pieces for sides, and 1 piece for top). I taped it together around the rack and cut holes where I needed them for cables and to hold fans. Worked perfectly! Now I'm taking advantage of all the reflected light from my grow lights and have a fully removable, modifiable, and light-weight housing for my shelf. I even have a removable front-piece held in place with magnets for when I want to remove just that part. So instead of a $50+ grow tent I have a 3$ one that does the same thing. Now I'm going to go and grab myself a $47 steak because I earned it :)I know some people would have said "why not just use aluminum foil". Used these to create an effect with Christmas lights. Provided a great reflection with Christmas lights. They worked well, item was what I expected and material isn’t super flimsy and doesn’t rip easy. However like all Mylar once a rip starts it’s easy to tear across.

This is less than paper thin and barely any weight to it which is perfect for my craft project. I am not using it as most folks. I am making specialty designed paper crafts so this light weight is awesome. The sheets are very large and I will have plenty of product to use. RE: window covering… This is a large size - see details as described- and can fit on garage windows or others to block sunlight. Not sure how I would get out the folded marks it has as the way it is packed but I am guessing you can use window “glue” to adhere to window and that will get rid of fold lines. Looks like it would help reduce sunlight and heat inside because of the material here. Read seller’s descriptions. I am happy with my purchase. But, read what seller wrote in detail so it works how you think it will work for you. Again, I read details and for me and the price this is perfect. Thank you
