Seems to get “some” air out. Previous model i had, you could feel the pressure change when pumping out the air where there was more resistance, but with this one it doesn’t change. When I uncork the bottle after, there is some “air pop” but not much compared to my last one.

Used on a $25 bottle of wine for over night vacuum storage but it failed to maintain vacuum and the bottle was oxidized and ruined. I tried the vacuum again on the bottle and sure enough it leaked and no vacuum! I went back to my old vacuum preserver and will wait until something better is rated. I'm disappointed. I should have known better as the black vacuum puller had very low vacuum against my skin.

I purchased and found that these corks worked best in thinner necked wine bottles. They held their vacuum seal longer the tighter the cork fit.Good value and very easy to use. The wine stayed fresh as long as the seal held.

If you finish a bottle of wine per week, this is great for keeping it long enough; however, if it takes you a month to go through a bottle, this may not be the best solution... it will help, but doesn't have quite enough vacuum for the long term.To seal, place the bottle on a firm, flat surface (countertop); insert the stopper in until the flange is seated against the mouth of the bottle; place the pump over the stopper and press down to make as good of seal as possible.Using one hand to press down, pump the handle with the other until you feel resistance. I also heard a bit of back-hiss once I hit the limit of the pump. After six days, I pressed the tab in the stopper and it still had plenty of vacuum to release. The wine tasted fine... the change was slight, but certainly acceptable... definitely and distinctly better than just stuffing the cork back in the bottle.A certain winning product for short- to mid-term storage of wine.

You get what you pay for. This is much less expensive than the fancy argon gas wine saving systems, but this does not work nearly as well as those. It is inexpensive, but it only extends the wine for a few days. When using the stoppers, you put a stopper in the wine bottle and place the pump on top of the stopper. You must push down pretty hard to 'seal' the pump to the stopper. Pumping will get you a light vacuum, but it is not a hard vacuum by any means. An argon gas system will keep wine for a long time. This system will only extend the life of an open bottle a few days (a week if you are lucky). If you are going to open a bottle and plan to finish it the next day, this is a good product for that. But if you want to save your wine for a week or more, this will not do that. This is an inexpensive wine stopper that saves the wine for a couple of days. Don't expect more than that and you will not be disappointed.Hope this helps you decide if this is a product that will work for you.

It is great that you get 6 stopers to keep your wine fresh. The plunger could be stronger. Have to pump a while until the bottle is sealed.
