Conceptually this is a nice idea. However, I probably had unreasonable expectations. It is inadequate to chill room temperature wine as you pour. With chilled wine, it should help with the temperature, but after pouring two healthy glasses, the stick is no longer touching the wine. The other issue was user error, mostly. The rod cannot be inserted into a fresh bottle without first pouring out some amount. Otherwise, the bottle will overflow long before the rod and spout are seated. Live and learn.I'm not returning it, but won't buy another.

this is more complicated to use than I'd initially thought but once I got the hang of it, it was a nice addition to our house. It is even more useful if you dont want to put an entire bottle of wine in the fridge but just want it chill enough to drink.

This will especially come in handy in the warmer months...and see using it for more than just wine...maybe with bottles of water set on a table during alfresco dining in the summer! And the pour spout can be used with red wine to let it breathe.

This came in a nice giftable box and includes the metal wine chiller rod, pour spout and rubber cork. I put the chiller in the freezer and used it for the first time a couple of days later. Note that this doesn't chill wine, this keeps chilled wine chilled. I pulled a bottle from the fridge, and poured a small glass (also note that you need to pour enough out to insert the rod without spilling wine everywhere, crazy displacement rules).I left the bottle on the counter and took small drinks for about an hour when it started to warm up a bit. So I would say that you can get a good hour of chill before needing to put the bottle back in the fridge. This is a must for any white wine drinker. This would also work for any tall bottle of chilled drink that you want to keep chilled for a while out of the fridge. Definitely recommend.

I have had similar items to this one and they have always ended up breaking. This is definitely one that should last much longer for two reasons. One is that the primary portion is metal instead of plastic or glass, so when you are putting it in and out of the freezer, you won't accidentally bang it into something causing it to break. The second reason it should last longer is the fact that it comes in two pieces. So with it not being so long, each piece will stay contained and not break. The box that it came in is well designed and sleek. On the inside it has cut outs for each of the two unassembled pieces so you can continue to store it in there when you have no need to keep it chilled in the freezer. As to how well it works, that is the best part. You freeze the bottom half. When you need to keep your wine bottle chilled, you remove the metal portion from your freezer, screw on the top half and push it firmly into the wine bottle. It has a nice spout on top for which you can then pour the wine from. the bottom section is solid, but there are two holes near the base of the top section which allows your wine to enter the spout section.Much better made as I said from all the ones I have tried in the past. Should last a long time and its performance is well thought out.

I have a bad habit of forgetting to put my white wine in the fridge every enough, so these kinds of things are helpful to have around. All you have to do is wash the pieces (it comes as a metal stick part & the pouring spout, as well as a stopper) which is pretty straightforward, & put the metal part in the freezer.Once it’s frozen/cold enough, take it out and attach the spout which is also super easy. Make sure that you pour a little liquid out of the bottle first, otherwise it will overflow (mistakes were made), then give it just a little bit before using that to pour your wine/etc. into your cup. It’s basically a long ice cube for the bottle.I tested it out with a bottle of Prosecco, I put the chiller in it for ~30m, & it got a bit colder so it does cool it down from room temp. I like the pouring spout too as it aerates the wine a little but also just pours nicely. Then you have a stopper if you don’t drink all the wine. It’s a great price, & it would be good for gifting since it comes in a box & has multiple things in it. Work’s for anything in the type of bottle that has a top like wine bottles, so beer/cider etc.

If you're like me (aka not a high end wine drinker), you'll appreciate this "tool" in your kitchen. The stainless steel rod just needs about 30 mins to an hour in the freezer to keep your wine chilled after opening (if only for a short while).I just need to find a way to keep the rod clean and separated while it's in the freezer so it doesn't transfer any of the freezer "taste" into the wine. The aerator built into the pourer is such a brilliant idea and makes my 2 buck chuck into a 3 buck chuck!Like I said, I'm no fancy wine connoisseur so a little bit of air goes a long way to mellow out my regular table wines. Me likey!
