I bought this after my second digital scale died on me. So far this scale has worked great for my needs; mostly food preparation and portioning. It doesn’t require batteries, which is great- but it might be more fragile than a typical digital scale.

I purchased this for work and it’s not as sturdy as I had hoped. It’s super easy to use and it is accurate. For the price, I could have purchased through our distribution for $10 more and would have known it would be more durable.

--- After using this for a while... I adjust the Tare alot for different bowls, pans and dishes that fit on the support. AND got a weight set to adjust the scale to near weight needed at the moment. eg: if i need 350 grams of something... put 350 of weights on scale and adjust tare to 350, take off weights and add your needed stuff knowing when it reaches 350 it is actually 350 verified. Grams between the 5 marks need to be estimated, which is jolly-well close enough.Looks good and Works good.

Most digital kitchen scales shut off just at the wrong moment! And, they need batteries! You are advised to measure each ingredient on the scale singularly and then toss it into a set-aside bowl.I appreciate a mechanical kitchen scale that accurately/precisely measures ingredients without shutting off. Place one bowl on the scale. Tare. Add ingredient “A” to bowl. Tare. Throw the ball to your begging doggie. Add ingredient “B” to bowl. Tare. Answer your phone call. Add ingredient “C” to bowl. Tare, etc. etc. etc. The unique value of an “analog” mechanical kitchen scale is that it never turns off! You can combine all ingredients in one bowl on the scale. Satisfying.Easy twist to tare. Easy to read face plate. Ounce and gram marks for small, home-use measures (for example single-loaf sourdough bread dough: 115 grams starter / 340 grams water / 560 grams flour / 20 grams salt). Works good.::

Within a month or so of purchase I've had to take it apart to put the inside back together 3 times. Presently it seems broken for good, as the teeth of the gears constantly catch and render incorrect weights. The inner pins have nothing to secure them, I had to superglue them in place just to stop it from falling apart every time it gets picked up. I've purchased a lot of scales and this is among the poorest constructed that I have encountered. Disappointing waste of money honestly.

Ordered two of these for use in a restaurant and unfortunately both only lasted a couple weeks before the adjustment knob used to set to zero didn’t work anymore.

Very simply put, a great, affordable scale. Easily zero-able. My 3 units are used almost constantly in my restaurant. Well made with a clear display. Comparable to and more affordable than the MUCH higher priced Pelouze brand scales.

Paid $60 for a much less durable scale in the past. Purchased for a pizza shop and it withstands daily abuse, it stays accurate and was a steal at the price I paid.
