I only used this product once before to push potatoes through to make mash. I washed it and put it away and it even still had the tag on it today. When I started using it to push my mash through I noticed the mesh had come apart on one section of it. This product might be ok for sifting flour only, but not potatoes. It's not sturdy enough. Go for a better quality.

Needed this for a recipe. Worked great. Screen is correct size, and it’s sturdy enough to push boiled potatoes through to make potato purée. I can’t tell if it’s steel or stainless, so I dry it well after washing.

I really do not like the sifters with the trigger handle and the turn handle sifter is just tiring after awhile. I can dump several cups of flour, with baking powder, baking soda, and cocoa into this and have sifted ingredients in no time. Tip: sift onto parchment paper for easy addition to a bowl or stand mixer. Way back, I admit that I put sifters away without washing because I thought its just flour, and I thought washing sifters would rust them. I now know that flour may contain E. Coli, and everything that comes into contact with flour must be washed thoroughly. I’ve never had any problems with this sieve rusting. The four stars comes from having to keep pushing down wayward pieces of metal in the screen. Otherwise, this is a great sifter — just be careful with the bits of mesh sticking out.

Good quality product. I’ve made over 100lbs of mashed potatoes through this thing and still looks brand new!

Para ciertos procesos en cocina es mejor un tamiz plano como este, si lo combinas con un molde de pan redondo de 25 CM queda perfecto para recibir el producto por abajo

This sieve works beautifully for sifting the flour we grind ourselves to make all our bread .It is fine enough for most bread and we also have a finer sieve we use for finer flour. Great product!

I have been needing one of these for my almond flour. I was very tired of my fine mesh and needed a coarser one asap. So using my trusty amazon.com I was able to find one that met my needs. I love this thing. Its very sturdy and seems to last a long time without rust.

While I have yet to try this while actually baking, other reviewers have said it works well. I took one person's advice and finished drying it in a warm oven to be sure no moisture was hanging around to cause a speck of rust.It was about the same price as traditional sifters I've always used, but its versatility attracted me. I wish they made one about 6" or 7" in diameter for us home bakers. One small downside is storing it so the screen is protected from popping out. I imagine it goes in the DW just fine, though it came with no instructions.I tested it with unbleached AP flour (piece of cake), coconut flour (required a spoon to break up lumps) and almond flour, which was more challenging because of its density and moisture/oil content though it did sift it nice and fine.Agree with another reviewer that this should be SO much better than crank or squeeze sifters if I ever get challenged with arthritic fingers.

I bought this to sift almond flour and powdered sugar for making French macarons. It works great and it so much faster than using a hand crank sifter or a smaller sieve. I'm very happy with it and it is sturdy and well made, I anticipate using it for many, many years.

I bought this for my girlfriend who is starting a baking business. She is doing a lot of French Macarons and her other sifters were cumbersome and took so long to sift Almond Flour (plus I broke one of them =X). I bought this in hopes that it would speed things up for her and when she was able to try it, she loved it! It has the perfect size mesh for sifting Almond Flour AND Powerder Sugar. It also seems well constructed so I definitely recommend it to any baker out there!
