Poor quality control, the head is unevenly ground, chips and bubbles in paint/coating, dents and scrapes all over. Very disappointing for what I used to consider a reputable brand.

The 24oz. weight in my opinion is the Goldilocks of ball pein hammers, just the right size. I have several old Craftsman USA ball pein's at the shop but those are getting really hard to find in good condition. Looking around I found this Williams for the house and I am really pleased. Good quality well attached handle, good steel in the head, ready to go.

People who complain about this hammer either purchased the wrong tool for the job or don't quite grasp what a small ball pein hammer is for. This is a perfectly acceptable tool for its intended purpose.

People say that Vaughn makes these for Snap-On, but my other Vaughn hammers aren’t quite so nice as these. You get what you pay for! I have six of them now, from the tiny 4 ounce to the ginormous 32 ounce, and they’re all basically perfect. They are the best ball peen hammers that I’ve ever used. Note that they are identical to the “Blue-point” ball peen hammers that Snap-on sells on their trucks, but somewhat discounted in price from those.

Great product, just don’t let it slip down the rolling cart handle and drop on your toe. I nearly cried man tears but pulled myself together and starting hammering away.

False advertising with its picture, yeah it says it’s a ball peen hammer and shows a sledge type but I was really hopping to get what the picture had shown, will be returning

I lucked out and got this 16oz at a killer price, about half of what it shows now and just a couple days later, so shop patiently. Very well made and fastened, smooth handle like you might expect on a good USA hammer. The best surprise is that the ball end is actually properly concentrically ground...!! I have not seen that in a long time. I suspect these are made by Vaughan like most but it's hard to say. Since the "commercial" cheaper line is all that Vaughan seems to sell in stores anymore under their own label and those never look very good, this Williams seemed like a good bet and was a bargain. The previously-available Vaughan "S" line was much better...if you care much about the ball end of the tool...and this looks just about exactly the same as what I remember them to be. No reason not to buy this and it's a far cry better then any of the China hammers and most of the Taiwan versions as well. I also bought a larger 24oz Klein ball pein at a great price - it's nice, well made, but the ball end was the typical grind (not perfect but better than most of what you see today...not concentric grind of course). If you can get one at a fair or better price, I'd recommend these Williams hammers hands down unless you need fiberglass or shock absorption types. As US and/or well-made tools are getting harder and harder to find, even from big brands that are otherwise good quality, this hammer was a really pleasant surprise.

Very deceptive listing. Amazon shows a picture of a 3 lb. sledge hammer and the listing says 4Oz Hammer. You get a 4 ounce hammer.
