I purchased this console looks great but was missing the game as advertised. A full refund was offered and tried to buy another but couldn’t find anything at a reasonable price. Ideally it would have been better to just ship the game that is missing. I’ve decided not to return as there is no other with the same value. Disappointed but I promised I would get this console. Unfortunately out of pocket.

When I first purchased this, I almost had a sense of regret as I had just found out about how everyone reacted to it. But honestly, once you get it going and start playing games it's pretty good. Now let's start off with the elephant in the room: No internet or GC compatibility. Internet isn't a huge thing for me on the Wii. It would be nice, but I really don't need it. I can stream stuff like Netflix from my phone or from the living room TV. While missing GC compatibility sucks, it's not what I bought this for. I already own a GameCube. The quality obsiously isn't the greatest, running at 480i. But if you're using it for a TV my size (see picture), then it really doesn't matter. Games like Super Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros still look pretty good. The only thing that bothers me from time to time is that this thing is loud. During loading screens, you'll hear beeps and boops and random moving parts inside of the Wii, and loading takes a bit. Once you get past it, it doesn't bother you as much. This is really a good deal for a console, I would buy it if you're just going to sit and game in bed. If you have a bigger TV or one that's HD, I would recommend getting an actual Wii (or maybe a switch since it's already 2017).Total: 8.5/10. Overall, you just need to look past it's downsides and look at it for what it is. The games.

It is OK. What it details and reality are 2 different things. Amazon has it listed as the latest. It is not. It is not compatible with Wii U like the description claims. Only compatible with Wii. If had to do over would have spent more and purchased WiiU

The Wii system itself is very basic, but all that I need. I don't have reliable, or fast, internet so picking up this basic console worked out really well. For the system, 5 stars. I love Mario Kart, so that's a win-win. Considering the game sells for at least $30, I'd call this a great deal. I knocked off 2 stars because the wiimote does not function properly. I tested a second wiimote and had no issues. The red wiimote that came with the console must have an issue with its sensor, because it jumps all over the screen and disappears frequently. It worked well enough to play some New Super Mario, but when it comes to using the motion sensor? Forget it. Hopefully I can contact the seller and work out a replacement remote. I really don't want to have to pack up the whole system and ship it back or have to purchase a new remote for an additional $30+.Buyers in the market for a Wii - Please note, this system does NOT come with internet connectivity. If you're looking for something small and sweet, this is it.Update - in typical Amazon fashion, my defective wiimote was taken care of. Without having to repackage the system and mail back, too! Upped the star rating from 3 to 5, I now have a perfect working console with new wiimote. Awesome!

Bought this on behalf of my 13 year old son. Had a lot of fun with it for the past two months. Now it's flashing an error code and working off and on. The Nintendo website for support is TERRIBLE!!!!!! I can't find ANYWHERE to enter a help request that will go through. The website is an endless loop of trying to find your issue and send it to the right place. HORRIBLE!!!! If I could return this I would, but sadly too late as I purchased it more than 30 days ago. What a bunch of crap.

I have so much fun playing Nintendo with my kids. Brings me back to when I was young and played Mario Brothers with my grandpa. Such a fun bonding experience and memories I will never forget. I hope my kids will say the same some day. This is an ideal product for us. It has been a great starter game unit for us. Bought it for my son's 6th birthday. We really like Mario Kart but the Mario Brothers game is our favorite. The graphics are not perfect but that's ok for us since I'd rather have a less expensive console for good enough graphics than pay a ton more for a really nice picture. The experience is the same to us. The "remote plus" is a lot of fun. This was new to me. It basically allows you to have a sensory experience when certain things happen (I'm so into the game I'm not actually even sure what it is- maybe when you die?). Basically it is just a little vibration. But you can also use the plus remote for flying and big jumps (by shaking it). Really a lot of fun and at a great price. I would most definitely buy this again!

If you are one of those people who never read the manual, do not panic when you plug in the cables, put batteries in the controller and power it up – it fails to respond to the controller! The small LEDs in the controller flash as though trying to connect but nothing happens. You need to do a full or fresh sync between controller and the main unit. Take off the controller battery cover and you'll discover a small button. Press it and immediately press the small button on the side of the main unit. Controller syncs and all is well. Yes, it is in the manual to do this, but re-read opening clause. If this doesn’t happen to you, then good luck. The rest of the observations are the same as most other reviewers. It is stripped-down and simplified. I like this – too many things to go wrong in the complicated disc drive of the original. That is what failed in my first Wii and led me to purchase this replacement. No wifi might mean you miss out on ‘extras’ downloaded from the internet in games such as Just Dance, but that’s it. Who uses a Wii to surf the net? This is an example of a device that does one thing and does it well. Simpler (yes), cheaper (yes), better? (time will tell).

Everything seems to work good, but it simply did not come with mario kart as advertised. Kind of a bummer to unpack everything and then realize you don't get to use it.
