Love this little set. Great quality bits. The extension has a bit holding part that helps alot. Nice to throw it into a bag and have a little ratchet set with you.

I bought the TerminatorBlue (impact bit) version of this set a while ago and love it. My son saw it and immediately fell in love. He said it was so cute. I bought him this version (74984) for Christmas because it has more of a variety of bits and sizes... probably a tad more practical for yer standard dude. The set seems to be high quality with a nice, compact metal case. The small case is just 4 3/8" long, which is great for portability and small spaces (EDC cases, backpacks, car/motorcycle tool kits). The tiny ratchet is also very nice with a handy thumb wheel on the top. The only problem I have with this set is the high price...$29.99??? Really?I know you can find similar sets for much less... or sets of comparable quality with more pieces for the same price. I think with this set you're really paying for that cute little metal case. That case... it just makes you want to play with it. Yes, I know... its a strange thing.Clearly, the marketing staff at Wiha are smart people because they include such an irresistible, cute little metal case with their mini ratchet sets. I suppose if you take overall cuteness into consideration, the case might be worth the extra money you pay if that sort of thing floats your boat.

The bit quality and compact form factor alone get this five stars. If you’re trying to build out a kit akin to the wear tool check plus, I don’t think you can really beat this for the price. The only gripe I have is the ratchet. It’s good quality but the f/r switch is way to easy to move during use. I wouldn’t rely on it to be the only 1/4” drive ratchet you have in the tool box but it’ll easily get you out of a pinch. I just personally think that the kit would’ve been better off with a screwdriver style bit driver handle rather than a ratchet. But again it’s an amazing kit and the quality can’t be beat at the price point

I work community and city convention events. I need an array of tools for different activations and displays. Frequent assemblies in tight quarters. I’ve tried nearly every mini ratchet made. This Wiha is very tough. Not super tough, none of these mini ratchets are but this is probably in the top five of any mini ratchet of this size. I have broke one Wiha but I can’t blame the ratchet since I’ve broken several others with far less effort. I’d like to think I’m smarter now. In any case I own several of these because the bits are such high quality, the selection of bits covers 95% of what I do and the case is so compact I think of the ratchet as a bonus.Great set, very handy and well made. Quality tool that will get you out of pickles and last a lifetime when used with common sense.

I’m a stickler for quality and was suprised with this little tool. Metal case, bits seem to be sufficient enough for a good amount of force. Ratchet gearing has a good degree possibly 3.3 .Awesome little tool for the price and like mentioned in a metal case. Winner 🙂

Background:I have a Wera Tool-Check Plus, which is too big for me to put in my pockets for EDC with other items. I also, rarely use sockets to justify to carry extra weight. I wanted a good EDC screwdriver and wrench system with commonly used heads, plus easy to carry on a commercial plane. It was competition between this and Wera's https://a.co/d/c7Aijwi, with 10 bit set. This one won due to Wiha's quality and more heads at a price lower than the Wera's, despite of me being a "Wera-hore" as my significant other calls me.I added my Wera 813R ESD as the screwdriver for the EDC to supplement this kit.Pros:1. Very compact. Measures about 5 inches long and about 1.5 inches thick. It easily fits my pants (both jeans and cargo) or shorts right pocket along with the 813R screwdriver and Knipex Cobra 6-inch pliers, Leatherman Squirt PS4 multitool and Skeletool knife. The pocket does not look overly filled nor do the tools stick to my hips like a colony of leeches.2. Good quality. This tool is robust and well made. Based on my experience, I believe Wera has better quality, finish, packaging and presentation, and durability at a higher price, compared to Wiha. Whether that "value" is better, only you can answer that.3. Versatility. This has a good assortment of bits, a nice extension piece, and a very good ratchet. It basically satisfies my needs while being outdoors, riding my bike, or performing work around the house. Coupled with the screwdriver, it gives me additional flexibility and capability.4. Workability. You can add a good amount of force and torque to move some of the tight pesky screws without any issues. The extension really helps with getting that additional driving force. Being small, it can work around tight spaces and unreachable areas.Cons:1. Weight. This is heavy. It does lug around some. I did not measure the actual weight, but it does seem to pull down on pockets which do not have additional lining reinforcements.2. Packaging. As mentioned earlier, Wiha saves costs with packaging in ho-hum ways. This can lead to packages getting damaged (see the last picture). It was the first one I ordered, which was missing the most important tool - the ratchet. Amazon's handling has quality issues. Had to return it. The second unit shows decent packaging, but not nearly as good as Wera has beautiful boxes for its units.3. The ratchet direction switch is easy to move with your thumb on it with little or no pressure, without noticing it. I had multiple times, only to realize why the screw wasn't tightening. This can be a major flaw if you are working on a critical work. The Wera's direction switch is much smaller and requires more pressure, that you cannot accidentally bump it.Comparison:For comparison, I have shown the Wera's ratchet and extension with Wiha's. While Wera's ratchet is similar, the quality and feel of it feels better. The extension for Wera is stubbier and smaller. The unhooking mechanism feels better than Wiha's. Again, for the price and usage, it was not a concern to justify paying higher.Bottomline:This is a good EDC set for taking around with good versatility and quality at a very good price (
