Whiteside Machine Company has been in the router bit business for over 30 years providing customer with quality products while at the same time striving to achieve complete customer satisfaction. Several woodworking magazines have tested Whiteside versus the competition and selected Whiteside as the winner for best router bits available in the market. Whiteside Machine Company was founded in 1970 as a general purpose machine shop in the basement of Bill & Bobbie Whiteside's home. Located in Western North Carolina near the furniture manufacturing town of Hickory, the company was often involved in making repairs or special parts for the furniture and woodworking field. A strong commitment to customer problem-solving, a can-do attitude, and innovative ideas, along with a growing core of dedicated employees, helped the business evolve into a manufacturer of woodworking equipment and tooling. Primarily through repeat business and referrals, the tooling business continued to grow to meet a demand for quality production router bits as well as custom application tooling. Today, Whiteside Machine occupies a 40,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and produces a complete line of solid carbide and carbide tipped router bits. Whiteside's quality, innovation, and customer commitment is still present in our superb product line, in the design of custom tooling to fill special customer requirements, and in the development of special machinery and tooling for our own manufacturing use. As always, Whiteside Machine is continuously striving to improve our product through new technology, improved production techniques, and ongoing research and development efforts; along with rigid quality control, vital customer feedback and extensive field testing. I had a Hitachi router with a half-inch shake that fit a 1/4 insert. The 1/4 Lost its shape and did not hold the insert in anymore. I purchased this; it was great quality and held my 1/4-inch router bits very well; they have not slipped at all.

I had some wood working to do but the only dovetail bit i could find was 1/4" shaft but i have 1/2'' router. Did some searching on internet and several forums suggested this. I ordered it and it worked perfectly! Fit right in my router and the dovetail bit fit right in this. Tighten it down and got all dovetails cut for my drawers with no issues from this adapter!

Used this in my table router to replace the cheap one that came with it. Tried another brand first but it didn't run true so all my bits wobbled. This adapter runs true and fits perfectly and took all thewobble out of my smaller bits.

Use on home grown CNC Router. I have a 2hp router that has 1/2" collect, that I use the adapter and 1/4" bits in 90% of the time. When I need to use a 1/2" bit I remove the adapter. Works great appears to be very well made. I have used it for over 7 months so far at least 4-5 hours a day 5-6 days a week and no problem. I bought two when I ordered them and the 2nd one is collecting dust in my Bit Drawer. Would recommend to anyone needing one and IF i ever need to buy another I know where to go. I have used Whiteside router bits for years and have never had any issues with their bits. Their reputation and my experience with their products is why I tried their adapter. So Glad I did.

I bought a MuscleChuck quick change collet, but forgot to buy an adapter, so have had to switch to one of my other routers when using a 1/4" shaft bit, since installing and removing the MuscleChuck kind of defeats its purpose. To solve the problem of running 1/4" shaft bits in my MuscleChuck, I bought this adapter.Pressing the adapter in, I noted it was a good, solid fit, so the outer machining was spot on. Pressing a 1/4" shaft bit in to the adapter went as well as installing the adapter.Tightening the chuck secured the 1/4" bit I was running just fine.Because this adapter has a collar, it's easy to install and remove. The collar stops it from going in too far, and gives you something to grab, when removing it to run a half inch shaft.
