Located in Western North Carolina near the furniture manufacturing town of Hickory, the company was often involved in making repairs or special parts for the furniture and woodworking field. This bit allows me to use a thin template and route a very shallow hole to insert a medallion

Was testing a cut with a new template in plywood, not very deep, but was not having any trouble making the cut then all of a sudden, smoke, shut down and the bearing was fried, I had literally cut about 18 inches. At first I thought it was the wood so grabbed another brand bit I had that was same size, new area on the plywood, no problem, maybe just a bad bearing.

I have used this bit extensively and it performs exactly as I have come to expect a Whiteside bit to perform. I know there are reviews out there that grouse about Whiteside guided bits and honestly, I don’t know what the reviews are based on. I have over a dozen Whiteside bits with at least half of them are guided and all of them perform well above any competitor I have tried. I don’t have the patience to try other brands in the hope of finding a better value so I pretty much only buy Whiteside.And just to be clear, I don’t work for Whiteside though it may sound like it and there will be those out there who won’t believe me. I am just a hobbyist woodworker who wants to get the most out of my tools.

Once you’ve used a Whiteside router bit you’ll wish all of your bits were Whiteside. I have other top brand router bits (think red) but Whiteside outperforms and outlasts without dulling or burning tips. Download their catalog for your wish list.

I have not yet used this router bit. It certainly looks of high quality and it will probably function just fine, but the vendor needs to change this picture as I was misled. The description is correct, but I wanted the router bit in the picture. The picture is of a #3000 bit while you will receive a #3010. The bit you receive is much larger than the one pictured.
