Whiteside Machine Company has been in the router bit business for over 30 years providing customer with quality products while at the same time striving to achieve complete customer satisfaction. Several woodworking magazines have tested Whiteside versus the competition and selected Whiteside as the winner for best router bits available in the market. Whiteside Machine Company was founded in 1970 as a general purpose machine shop in the basement of Bill & Bobbie Whiteside's home. Located in Western North Carolina near the furniture manufacturing town of Hickory, the company was often involved in making repairs or special parts for the furniture and woodworking field. A strong commitment to customer problem-solving, a can-do attitude, and innovative ideas, along with a growing core of dedicated employees, helped the business evolve into a manufacturer of woodworking equipment and tooling. Primarily through repeat business and referrals, the tooling business continued to grow to meet a demand for quality production router bits as well as custom application tooling. Today, Whiteside Machine occupies a 40,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and produces a complete line of solid carbide and carbide tipped router bits. Whiteside's quality, innovation, and customer commitment is still present in our superb product line, in the design of custom tooling to fill special customer requirements, and in the development of special machinery and tooling for our own manufacturing use. As always, Whiteside Machine is continuously striving to improve our product through new technology, improved production techniques, and ongoing research and development efforts; along with rigid quality control, vital customer feedback and extensive field testing. Whiteside Machine Company.

This bit works great in a handheld trim router to round over edges of pockets cut with a 1/4” bit on Cnc. Bits come sharp and stay sharp, I run them at full speed and experience very little burning. For me, Whiteside quality is worth the small price premium.

Excellent bit for inside work. See picture with a pause of work (half completed) for this review. Smooth edges even in plywood, requiring very minimal finish sanding.

Like every Whiteside bit I've ever used, this thing is great. If you're routing the edges of single boards or the outsides of assembled work, just use the regular bearing-guided bits. But if you are trying to rout the inside edges and corners of assembled work, this is the bit you need. Reaches almost all the way in 90 degree corners and saves so much time trying to match a rounded edge with files and sandpaper that bearing bits can't get to. The brass guide can burnish the wood a hair, but a little sanding gets that fixed up.

This is a fantastic round over bit for right curves and small spaces.

Key to using these bits with no bearing is use a low RPM or you will overheat the tip. I used a 3 setting on my Makita palm router to round a bunch of plywood edges.

I needed an 1/8” round over in a shallow area. This bit not having a ball bearing pilot was much more compact and fit the need. Being a smaller diameter will also do well where you want to radius in tight radius corners. The overall diameter is smaller than a typical 1/8” bit and has a slower feed rate as a result. Not a replacement for a ball bearing pilot, but a good addition.

This was my first use of small pilot router bits. Worked really well for adding a roundover on my bandsaw scroll projects. There were many tight corners that conventional bearing bits prevented a good roundover. This bit was just the trick. Note that the brass pilot is bonded to the bit it does not spin. It did not leave any burn marks on cherry. Highly recommended.
