I purchased this a month ago to create a scratching post for our cats, and I'm really impressed with the quality. It has held up well against their scratching. I have three large cats who love using it, and it's still in great condition. There was no strange odor, and they even included some complimentary catnip, which was a huge hit with my cats! I highly recommend this if you're looking to make a homemade scratching post. I used a hot glue gun and a cylindrical post

It is nice and a good value, but it does smell. You have to air it out for a few days so just be prepared for the smell. If you can I would suggest opening it and leaving it outside or in a garage if you have one, and not in the house. It will smell up the whole house lol

This green color rope saved a well loved cactus shaped cat tree. I cut off the frayed old rope and attached the new with a regular hot glue gun. I went around the base adding glue every couple of inches. My cat was at it within minutes of the glue drying and nothing has come apart as of a couple months on from the repair. I would recommend this quick DIY method!The rope stinks a little on arrival but smell dissipated within a week. I would wear gloves when handling it.

Used it to redo a scratching post. Works well, cats like it just as much as the original. This one might even be better because it doesn't seem to fray as much as the original.If I need to redo another one, I will definitely repurchase.
