If you purchase a digitizer with a home button, you'll save a little time and effort, but loose Touch ID. Since the hardest, and most time consuming, part of the job is removing the damaged digitizer, bits of glass and old adhesive, there's little point to avoiding this step. On the other hand, you'll need some super glue, or similar, to transfer your original home button to this one.

That’s what happened after put the screen the stuff that was connected to the screen keep popping up and the adhesive it didn’t stick properly and the screen was keep popping in the side as well I’ve been trying to fix it for five times but the result still the same...The crack screen was working much better than this one.I didn’t have a problem on touching the screen even so it’s all crack everywhere and the LCD was working great but when I replace it when the new screen that’s the result.

I ordered this to replace the screen on my daughters iPad. Perfect fit and works just like new she is happy with dads repair. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube step by step how to replace these just go slow and it can be done at home.

Super good price for what I got. My iPad had been cracked for agesss & I finally fixed it using this. I wouldn't necessarily say it was easy to install, but if you watch a video you’ll figure it out. Definitely a time consuming activity to fix this, it took about 2 hours but I’m no apple tech.

Just finished installing this on a 6th Gen iPad and am writing this review with the completed iPad. So yes it will work but you will need to order parts to secure the home button to the glass. The only difference between this new glass and the factory original is the home button sits a little deeper. Not sure if the glass is thicker or the new home button mount sits lower. I salvaged my home button and the finger print scan works fine. The glass fits snug in the lip of the frame. The adhesive is holding it in place just fine. If that changes I will update the review. The tools provided work fine but you will need a tiny flat head screwdriver and a heat gun.My three month old iPad took a tumble and fell on the floor. The glass was not cracked, shattered would be a better description. Thousands of tiny shards. The local shop wanted $200. I bought the thing for $250 on Black Friday so “No thank you.”Tips since the YouTube videos currently posted are really poor. First when removing the glass be sure you are wedging the broken glass away from the frame with some old business or credit cards. When you get to the bottom be sure you are getting between the glass and the WiFi and GPS antennas (they are in the bottom right and bottom left evenly spaced between the home button and edges). They can easily be broken off. Also on the right side about 1” from the bottom are the ribbon cables for the LCD display and the home button. Once again be careful. You will also need a way to secure the support bracket around the camera lens. I used double sided tape. If they had provided the tape and brackets for the camera lens and home button, I would give this 5 stars.I ended up ordering the home button parts (home button spacer, home button bracket) from a tech group out of Grand Rapids, MI.Overall a success.
