This Shepherd staff prop is just cheap plastic that from a distance doesn't look too bad and is recognizable as a shepherd's hook. The staff comes in several pieces that make it easy to store and easy to adjust the height. It's full height is tall enough for fairly tall adult to use and it looks good at that height. At its full height the hook a the top looks too small though, in my opinion. The shaft of the staff looks kind of lame up close because of the obvious texture where the two pieces screw together. Overall, useful as a simple prop for amateur Christmas nativities or a child's costume not great for anything you want taken seriously.

This is a cheap, lightweight, simple costume prop. It comes in multiple pieces, which screw together easily. At the time of this review, the title and description of the item list the max height at 60" and 62", which is about accurate, however, one of the item images shows up to 6'-2" (74"). That is incorrect for the version I received. You'd have to have an additional length section to do that. Just note that the description is the correct one - 5'.Overall, this will work okay for a simple Halloween costume, but I worry that it'll break (especially with a kid). I would have preferred it to be a little thicker and sturdier. I also wish it had a cap or something on the bottom portion so it's not just open to the ground.
