I used two of these to make a periscope connection for our dryer and it worked perfectly. Much better than the big box alternatives..

Simple construct, but many sharp edges at metal edges. Better crimping of the metal folds would be preferred. I flattened and crimped them to my satisfaction and beat down the places where metal 'peaks' were a bit jagged. Otherwise, it serves the intended purpose and will correct the metal flex tube routing behind my dryer which I do not like how it restricts the exhaust air flow.

I recently purchased the Whirlpool 4396006RW Genuine OEM Elbow Vent Connector for my dryer, and I couldn’t be more pleased. The quality of the aluminum is excellent—it feels sturdy and well-made, which gives me confidence in its durability. Installation was a breeze, and the fit was perfect with my dryer.

I was not sure which product may work the best for trying to get my newly purchased dryer as close as possible to the wall. I had bought another product at the same as this product and waited for the installer to make his decision. It really was a toss-up and he decided to go with the other product. However this elbow had good qualities that would compare to the other and would do the same.

My washer and dryer are on my main floor. One room away from my bedroom and I must say I LOVE IT! It’s soooo much easier to get my laundry done with the ease of convenience having my laundry room in the middle room between our bedrooms. I highly recommend this! Lol 😆 ok ok yeah enough about that subject. It’s also the room we keep our robot cat litter box. So our cats visit this room frequently. They at certain times of the day go bat crap, crazy and rip around the house. I think out of boredom due to the fact, it’s too cold to go outside in our state right now.I’ve been having an ongoing problem with them disconnecting my dryer hose vent, causing it to be continuously leaking out into the house. Fogging up my windows adding way to much moisture into our house.I decided to stack our dryer onto the washer to save space. The room isn’t that big. I also used foil tape to try to eliminate as much leakage as possible. It is working out beautifully so far!***also beware when you insert the piece into the dyer hole be sure to push it in all the way until it stops. I don’t think I was getting mine that far in before. I didn’t realize it could go in that far. It was a lot easier to see that with the dryer on top of the washer bring it up to my eyesight more then before trying to get at it next to the floor when not sacked. And I like the nice angle which also SAVES MORE SPACE! ❤️I would definitely recommend this product.I did search and search and this one is exactly what I was looking for. Space saving and Good price. It’s so wonderful to finally not have my dryer leaking hot air out into our house!!! 😄👏🙌

Perhaps there are a fortunate few installations wherein the dryer vent wall port connection is directly behind the vent port connection on the dryer, but if not and your dryer is part of the Whirlpool, Maytag, etc, family then this product is highly recommended to avoid potentially hazardous air flow restrictions in your vent duct tubing. Yes, it is made from a thin gauge material, but with taking care with your install that should not matter. Prior to installing this product my dryer’s flexible vent duct tubing (the higher quality type) had to make two 90 degree turns which both restricted air flow and shortened the life of the flexible duct tubing when disconnected for vent cleaning. Now with this product on the back of the dryer the flexible tubing only needs to make a very shallow turn to meet the wall connection. Another advantage to this product is that while you will need the hose clamps for the each end of the vent duct tubing (one at wall connection and the other for the “rippled” end of this product), this product slides snugly onto the back vent connection of this family of dryers without needing a clamp to keep it there (as long as it is pushed all the way in so the flange meets the back of the dryer panel). When it is time to clean out the vent tube it is easy to remove from the back of the dryer without causing stress on the duct tubing.

I used this aluminum dryer vent elbow for a dryer in a small laundry room to get the dryer tighter to the wall. It worked well for me and the final venting was more compact and cleaner than what was there.Ease of installation is dependent on the location and the space in the room you have to work on it. In my case this vent elbow fit the vertical vent pipe it connected to as it should, so I din't have to struggle in tight quarters to install and secure it.As for value for the money, I paid what I would expect to pay for an aluminum vent elbow at a big box home improvement store, so I would say it's fairly priced. As for sturdiness, this is an elbow made of aluminum, so it is not as durable against crushing or denting as a steel elbow would be. It is sturdy enough for what it is designed for if even minimal care is taken installing it and pushing the dryer back against the wall.I would buy it again.

For our installation it was imperative that we make it as close as possible to zero clearance at the back of the dryer. This elbow helped do the job although the flange around the perimeter of the duct digs into the drywall a bit. Not quite 4.5 inches as they claim. However we had to consider every fraction of an inch so it may not matter in most situations. The overall design is good and the interior of the duct is relatively smooth so there will be less lint hang-ups. For us, it is so far so good.
