I had a broken wheel lock on my army issued rucksack, I ordered a 6-pack of these and they are an exact fit. Pretty cool how they work.

The circular component keeps my laces from coming loose; conventional spring-loaded drawstring locks don't grip enough to keep my boot laces from coming loose.Installing these are very easy: insert the circular part into the housing and then keep it down and away from the narrower opening; this is the "top" section where your laces go out, and friction keeps both the circular part from falling down and allowing the laces from coming loose.It also means loosening the laces are a breeze, simply push the circular part up and it allows you to move your laces back down to become loose. At time of writing, I am using Lace Lock elastic laces to tighten my boots, but their stoppers don't provide enough grip to the laces from coming loose after only a few steps.Best part is it came in three pairs, so I can use them for two other sets of footwear.

My Arctix rain pants (shown in photos) needed suspenders until I got this cord lock. The Arctix came with the spring type cord lock (one photo) that was useless. In locked position, the cord still slipped easily through. I cut that lock off and replaced it (the other photo) and this one works.I also put one of these on sweat pants that really needed a cord lock and on which I had tried adding a spring type cord lock. Those have a very different cord material, but this cord lock works there as well.The spring type ones are a bit more convenient when they work, but they only work when the cord is perfect for the lock (which didn't even happen when Arctix chose the lock for their pants design).This lock seems to work on a significant range of cord materials and thicknesses.

Just received them today and 2 out of the 6 already had the wheel installed and so totally unusable. Must have been returned previously by someone? Very bad purchase, will order from a company I know next time, if there is a next time! A good thing I only needed 2 today or I would have returned them!

This is a direct replacement for the drawstring on the top of my large ALICE rucksack. The original only lasted 30 years so this one has it's work cut out for it. So far, so good. I'll keep you posted if it fails. See picture if you are unsure how to use these.

Once installed, these guys work great. But you better get it installed correctly the first time. If install incorrectly for your wants, you have to destroy the unit to remove or live with the results.

No problem at all with the product, gave it 5 stars. However one of the picture in the ad shows it in use on a bag. It's backwards, the flat end should face the bag, the rounded side faces away.I am using them for drawstrings on pants, and installing them as shown in the picture didn't keep tension, the drawstrings slide out. Once I reversed them, everything was fine.
