I bought this kit as an upgrade to the other touch up paint I had gotten before this. i sanded the touch up job and redid it using the marker provided. It actually looked worse so ended up going over the top with the original paint I purchased prior.

I didn't think it would work that well, but it's not bad at all. Now, please understand that it's not going to make it look like new, but it does hide the curb rash pretty well. I can't tell where my scratch is unless you get close. It's was a pretty deep scratch as well so I'm super happy with this product.

I used this SMAPHY Wheel Scratch Repair Kit to fix curb rash on my black rims, and overall, I’m pleased with the results. The gloss black matched nicely, and the kit was straightforward to apply. However, after about three months, I noticed fading in spots where I hadn’t applied the paint evenly, so make sure to coat thoroughly for the best results. Despite that minor issue, it’s still an affordable and effective solution for minor wheel scratches. 4/5 stars.

Does the job, but you probably would be better off by just buying the pen.

Like other reviews have stated, this product will not give you a professional level fix. The items supplied with sand/smooth out the curb rash very well and the paint covers the scratches you can't sand out. Just fixed a wheel about an hour ago, and I have to look for repaired areas now. Good deal for the money!

As hard as I’ve tried to avoid Curb Rash! It happens! And even worse when your vehicle has black rims. I had several lil 1inch long scratches and still hadn’t used this kit! My husband gets so upset with me when I’d scratch! Curbs in drive thrus are the Devil! The most recent accident was me. Hitting curb in neighborhood and omg a long over 12”scratch! Well this kit did a decent job! You clean rim first then sand the the harsh metal shards kinda like filing your nails! Using that foam sandpaper block once done shake shake that pen get paint flowing to TIP and Dab it on the discolored (scratch ). Don’t move the car let it dry and it’s good! From distance looks fine just no up close you can Tell! The touch up paint at Auto store didn’t work at all! But this kit and I did it myself! I’m a woman taking responsibility for the Curb Rash! It’s happens Chill out!!

This stuff works great! I had a small scratch on a black wheel of a rental car. I had only a day to fix it. I overnighted this kit to myself and was able to fix the scratch on the wheel. I didn't use all of the kit. I just isolated the scratch the the tape, smoothened out the area, and used the pen to apply multiple coats. It takes much longer than you anticipate or they say. The paint takes a while to dry; so, multiple coats take a long time. But, it works. At first it looks shiny because it's not dry. But, once it dries, it looks great. You have to be really looking closely to find the repair.

The gloves were useless and weak, as they were difficult to put on and fell apart quickly. I took them off as I figured I wouldn't need them anyway since I'm careful enough to not get paint all over my hands. It's hard to tell which side of the sandpaper block is fine and which side is coarse because there isn't much of a difference, if any.. Usually it's quite obvious which parts are fine and which parts are coarse.. maybe my had a manufacturing problem? While using the paint marker to paint the wheel, it leaked all over hte place and got all over my fingers and the garage floor. When I was shaking it in order to mix the paint, the cap flew off, along with the little marker tip thing. This expelled some paint from the item and I couldn't find where the cap went afterwards. This also means I had to throw it away and not get the rest of my money's worth because there's no cap for it. At first I ended up not bothering to apply masking tape because I tried and it wasn't sticking to the tires. I realized it wasn't for this and was meant for paint defects that are near other areas.. I was frustrated heavily at this point by all of the issues and I ended up turning good parts of the wheel lip a chalky white with the sandpaper block. If this thing wasn't so frustrating and difficult, that wouldn't have happened. So now I had to mark way more than I wanted to in order for it to not stand out as sanded. It's not a perfect match for the gloss black I have, but I had a feeling that would be the case. It wouldn't have mattered much if not for all the other issues, which resulted in having to use it on way more of the wheel than originally planned. The only positive thing i can say is that it looks better now than when it had silver spots on the gloss black wheel lip.

I’ll start off by saying the process is very easy and fast. I fixed it myself in about 20-30ish minutes, most of the time allowing the paint to dry to apply another coat. It took about 3 coats to look good. I plan on replacing my rim completely but for now this is an awesome fix! Obviously, from close up you can kind of tell it’s paint. But as you can see in my last photo, you really can’t tell the rim is damaged. I will say that the sandpaper kind of sucks, but the paint is relatively thick enough to cover up some of the scratching. I will say for 14 bucks this is a pretty awesome temporary fix. We’ll see how long it holds up.
