hub centric rings

What is a Hub Centric Ring?

The Hub Centric Ring is a ring made of plastic or aluminum to fill the gap between car hub and wheel center bore. if your car is with OEM wheel from the car manufacturer, you don’t need this. But if you are trying to install a set of nice aftermarket rims onto your car or replace a set of wheels which was made for other brand car, most likely the center bore parameter will not fully matched with each other. The car will have vibration issue when the speed is over 40-60mph no matter how you tight up the lug nuts. The Hub Centric Rings will Fix this vibration.

How to choose a right size hub rings?

wheel hub diameter

Measure the wheel Hub Diameter

Different car come with different Hub Diameter. From 54.1 to 72.6 for most of cars, Light trucks are bigger. Even different model or year made of the car under same brand may have different Hub size. if you have no idea of your car parameter. Provide your car model and year made. We will check that for you.

wheel center bore

Measure the Wheel Center Bore

Most of the aftermarket wheel come with bigger Center Bore. The manufacturers want to fit their wheels with many cars. The CB data can be found from Wheel brand website or from the carton label of the wheels. if can’t find the data, try to measure the Diameter using a Caliper.

Choose the right size

The Outer Diameter (O.D) of the hub centric ring must match with Wheel Center bore. and the Inner Diameter (I.D) must match car hub diameter. the tolerance can only within +-0.2mm.

Plastic hub centric rings

How to Choose between Plastic and Aluminum Alloy rings

Both plastic and Alloy Rings work perfectly if you choose the right size. Alloy one is nicer for the appearance. And it is made by CNC machine, tolerance can be controlled within +-0.1mm. The plastic one is made from Injection molding. The tolerance is within +-0.2mm. But it is cheaper than Alloy one.

Proper sizing is critical. One would expect a rim shop to provide accurate measurements for the rims they sell. After three orders and subsequent research, I finally obtained the correct size, resulting in a perfect fit. Next-day delivery was an added benefit. This is my first experience with metal rings; previously, I used plastic versions. The longevity of these metal rings remains to be seen. These are for my winter setup, and I will provide an update in a few months.

Used these on a 2014 Dodge Dart to center the aftermarket rims in place of the stock ones. I thought the bolt hole taper would be enough to keep the rims centered on the wheel hub when mounted, but while driving down the road had a lot of vibration. Installing these cleared it up instantly.

Fit great and finally fixed my shake at speed. I would spend my time trying to get the wheel as centered as possible before I had these. Wiggling the wheel while tightening each lug nut little by little. It would still vibrate a little on the highway. I'm always shocked how much of a difference these little rings make. Glad these are metal. I've had more than a few plastic ones snap on me.

This is my second set of hub adapters i ordered from these guys and they are great! (Both times are metal sets for my wheels)These are THE Guys for wheel hub adapters. I need to see what else they provide. After the standard amazon packaging you have that iconic Blue box !!!! They are packaged nicely especially if you buy the metal ones And you know if your measurements are correct. Then you will have Perfect fit! The Price is good its easy on the wallet after you just spent them on wheels . I know its a stretch but i would love to get a sticker in the box would be cool.( could even be like a laptop sticker doesn’t have to be a Decal)These guys know Wheels and measurements and make finding the right part easier with their pictures and explanations. So yeah BUY MORE CAR PARTS!!

Hub centering rings take up the space between the inside of the wheel and the outside of the raised centre of the wheel hub - the hub pilot - when you're using a wheel that isn't original to the car or truck. Most commonly, this will be an aftermarket wheel, whose inside diameter is often made big enough to fit the largest possible application that the wheel can fit. (Obviously an oversized one can fit a smaller pilot, where one too small can't fit a larger pilot...)Why care? Without it, you're relying on the tapered seat on the wheel nuts and in the wheel to do the job of perfectly positioning the wheel in exactly the line of rotation. Factory wheels almost always have matching centres and hub pilots to ensure it all lines up. It also helps support the wheel under load, which again, you're now asking the wheel nuts and studs to do. Wheel fasteners are only intended to secure the wheel in place, not do those other two jobs. With the wheel potentially out of centre, imbalance, runout, and vibration are all possibilities. Plus, it can be a pain to try and place the wheel and to start and tighten the fasteners, all while trying to keep it all centred. These inexpensive rings do the job for you. All you have to do is select the correct size. These Wheel Connect rings replaced broken and cracked plastic ones that had come with the car and its summer wheels. I went with aluminum in hopes they'd be more durable, and was very pleased with the precise fit in both the wheel and on the pilot. Chinese made, but at least made for a company said to be headquartered in and with multiple warehouses in Canada. The alloy seemed of decent quality. Can't ask for more, particularly at such a reasonable price.(Apologies for only providing the one semi-useful photo - a corrupted SD card ate the rest.)
