Package was well packed to insure safe delivery. Great value for the money.Hubby picked up a pack of 25 at WM to get me by until these arrived. Yes, those were a tad, just a tad, thicker than these…but totally not needed; and $4 for only 25!!!! Yikes. I wont let myself run out again!

Bottom line: most plastic plant markers available are too flimsy, will get brittle & crumble or melt & bend in the sun, but these are nice, thick, sturdy & will last for reuse.I used these (6” ones) all last season and they were perfect for my needs. Only drawback is I wish they were slightly wider, but they are wide enough I managed to write everything I needed just fine. They are very thick, sturdy, and not easily moved on accident or washed way once you stick it in the dirt. (I had a friend who had crows pull up a bunch of his garden markers, and I think with these it might be a bit too difficult & deter them from making a game of it.)The 6” ones are too tall to stick in my little 2.7” square starter pots when the dome lids are on, for starting seeds & cuttings, so I just label those with masking tape or what short flimsy garden markers I have around. It’s worth labeling twice, to have these sturdy reliable labels all season in the garden. They also stick up tall enough that it makes them easier to read than the shorter labels. (I think the 5” length might fit inside the pots with the dome lid on, so I’m tempted to try that length…but I do love having the 6” for when planted outside.)I didn’t use the provided marker, because I already had Artline garden markers, which I know are reliable to not fade outside. I used marker on the smooth glossy side, and used pencil as a back-up on the textured side. Pencil will not fade or wash off even in the presence of oily sprays, so I like to use it. But I also like having the bold black of a marker so I can easily read the label from a distance. The Artline markers and pencil combo worked perfectly. Nothing faded or washed off by the end of the season. I had one or two that had the marker smear after getting hit directly with neem oil spray. But sun & water is fine. Rubbing alcohol will “erase” the Artline garden markers if you need to fix a mistake while labeling.Another review said they wished the hole to hang the tag from the plant was 2” from the opposite end, but personally I hope they keep them the way they are. Whether I’m hanging a tag from a plant branch, or sticking the tag in the dirt, I want the hole to be at the skinny pointed end where it won’t interfere with my writing. (Same review said they couldn’t push it into the dirt without digging a hole first, which seems very odd because these are the sturdiest plastic labels I’ve ever come across & push easily into dirt for me without bending, unlike many other plastic labels.)I have appreciated the twine that was in the packages for tying up little seedlings to chopstick stakes, for ones that need support to grow straight.I like these so much that I ordered twice last season, and am back to order again to prepare for the start of this season (I keep increasing the number of my plants…my plant addiction may be getting a bit out of hand. 😂) But I am able to erase the labels for the plant varieties that won’t be returning to my garden this year, and reuse them for something different. The pencil erases with a normal eraser, and I can remove the Artline garden marker with rubbing alcohol.Picture shows two of these Whaline 6” plant markers below a premium 4” garden marker I got from elsewhere (included with the purchase of some pots. ) These went through a growing season outside & then being washed in soap, then soaked in a bleach rinse. You can see that I started erasing some of the marker, using rubbing alcohol on a piece of paper towel. The bottom one shows the pencil written side.

Other plant sticks seem to get hurt by UV and break between seasons, but these last season to season so I know my young perennials aren't weeds. They are deep enough they don't knock out easily too. No idea about the writing part.

I purchased these to cover drilled metal holes for a cabinet I’m turning into an orchid cabinet. These are perfect for running my cords through.

In this case, plastic is good - "wood" labels are a failure. These have good length, but are quite flimsy - can't push them into the ground except in the softest dirt - have to dig a slot. BUT, the bigger issue is they're touted as having a hole drilled through them through which you can thread twine - twine included. But the hole is not much more than 1" above the tip of the stake that goes into the ground. How silly is that! The hole - which, again, is a great idea - should be at the opposite end of the stake, about 2" from the top.Reverse the hole location and you'll have a better product.

These are the first plant labels I've used that actually survived the whole growing season without a single one breaking, and the larger size was very nice. The markers are just as fantastic as the plant labels. I put them in the garden the first week of June and removed them in October and November, still able to read each one. That NEVER happens with Sharpie markers. The ones in the photo were even washed with dish soap and water before I took the picture, which did lighten some slightly. I'll definitely be purchasing these for next year's garden! Edit: I already ordered a new set for the coming growing season, but did an experiment to see about reusability. Acetone Free Nail Polish Remover cleaned them perfectly, with a little effort. Acetone and Alcohol (70% & 91%) did not work. Hope this helps!
