About this item

  • G/flex 650 is a toughened, versatile, liquid epoxy for permanent waterproof bonding of fiberglass, ceramics, metals, plastics, damp and difficult-to-bond woods.
  • G/flex adheres tenaciously to difficult- to-glue hardwoods, both tropical and domestic varieties. This is important since many of the exotic and tropical species now being used to replace traditional woods present bonding challenges.
  • G/flex has the ability to glue damp woods. It can be used on wet surfaces, even underwater when applied with specific techniques.
  • Country of origin: United States

G/flex 655 is a toughened epoxy that makes permanent, waterproof structural bonds. It absorbs the stresses of expansion, contraction, shock, and vibration. G/flex adheres tenaciously to HDPE, LDPE ABS, PVC, Polycarbonate, and Hypalon plastics. It also bonds metal, glass, masonry, fiberglass, and wood. The G/flex 655-1 syringe contains 0.42 oz of resin and 0.42 oz of hardener, perfect for small repair jobs.

WEST SYSTEM Six10 Thickened Epoxy Adhesive

Six10 Thickened Epoxy Adhesive

Six10 Thickened Epoxy Adhesive is a two-part epoxy with a consistency similar to gel toothpaste. We manufacture it under vacuum to prevent entrapped air bubbles. Our in-house chemists formulated this toughened system with 8% elongation. Conveniently, Six10 requires no hand mixing when used with a standard caulk gun and the static mixing wand that comes with each cartridge (pictured caulk gun not included). The self-metering coaxial cartridge dispenses a gap-filling, structural adhesive that bonds tenaciously to wood, metals, fiberglass, and concrete.

Six10 has a working time of over 40 minutes until the mixing wand becomes unusable. This adhesive has shear thinning properties, which means it moves more like a liquid when you work the material. This allows its use in cooler temperatures. You can also use it to wet out lightweight fiberglass cloth. It will cure in temperatures as low as 50°F (10°C).

G/flex Epoxies

G/flex is a two-part, toughened epoxy that can make structural bonds which absorb the stress of expansion, contraction, shock, and vibration. We formulated this system for high elongation with an ultimate elongation of around 30%. The increase in elongation and lower modulus (stiffness) that it provides equates to better adhesion to substrates. This helps it resist a peel or delamination from starting.

G/flex has a 1:1 mix ratio by volume for easy measuring. It’s also ideal for bonding dissimilar materials. We offer it in two versions. The liquid version, G/flex 650, has a consistency similar to honey. You can thicken it with 406 Colloidal Silica to reach the same viscosity as the 655. The pre-thickened version, G/flex 655, has a consistency like gel toothpaste. With proper application techniques, it will bond to wet/damp substrates and dense or oily woods like teak and oak.

WEST SYSTEM G/5 Five-Minute Adhesive

G/5 Five-Minute Adhesive

G/5 Five-Minute Adhesive is a two-part adhesive that will cure to a gel state within minutes. It has a 1:1 mix ratio by volume. You can wet sand it about 30 minutes after application. It is ideal for a temporary, quick cure that’s convenient for some applications like fabricating a quick custom sanding block with some scrap fiberglass cloth and a piece of foam.

G/5 should not be used where high loads are expected or if it will be continually immersed in water.

Seems to bond great. I haven't tried to break the wood loose, but I've sanded and sawed vigorously right next to the bonded sections. Zero movement or wiggle.

I just used this epoxy to reattach my kid's snowboard's base layer that had become delaminated. I chose this because of the flexibility properties.

Used for handling 6 knives so far, including long-handled twca cam. Great results with mild learning curve. Wet consistency is on thick side of honey, but will settle and sink a bit. So far it appears to be very strong, including setting a 3” sloyd blade in maple despite having a short ~1” tang which has held on through peeling though seasoned hardwood. Hasn’t been too hard to mask off wood parts and peel away excess without destroying unmasked sections of set epoxy.

I purchased this product to fill in knot holes in wood flooring prior to finishing. I had never done this before, and was overwhelmed by the number of options online! West System seemed to be highly regarded on many blogs and review sites, and I liked that the Flex Epoxy was likely to expand/contract with my real wood flooring without popping out. It was very easy to mix and use, and layered well where my knots were deeper. I used way less product than anticipated, which was a nice surprise, as now I have epoxy left over to try on other projects!

The industry standard in rebuilding wood Boats. This type of epoxy has just the slightest ability to flex compared to the rigidity of most epoxies. This is not a flex visible to the eye. But with wood Boats we like a little give. And the squeeze bottles work great. No measuring spoons required. No cleaning up of the measuring spoons required. No waste of product on the measuring spoons. This companies back up literature is brilliant and free -- again the industry standard. The back up information is the best I have ever seen in my life, so if you want to learn!

This appears to have worked to fix a Royalex Canoe that had a hole in the bow and stern. I was only able to use it on the outside of the stern larger hole as there wasn't much in these bottles. The crack was about an inch wide and a foot long and from the outside i filled in the foam area with this flexible epoxy and then put a 4-layer weave on top. It used about 90 percent of the epoxy. This means I had to actually use regular epoxy on the inside which took away some of the flexibility. The front of the canoe I which had a smaller hole I had to use my regular epoxy as well since i was out of this. It was already a more stiff area so I am not as concerned but the rear hole probably won't give as well as it was hoped. The repair does look nice and did hold up to us moving the canoe around. Soon to be tested on the gravel bottom of a river which will be the real test. My advice is to order double if you have more than a very small scrape you are fixing. It looks like it could be stored well in separate containers if you don't use it all
