This is my third bread maker, the best one yet. This makes the best bread. You can make a full loaf of bread just like the one you buy at the store. Just put the ingredients in and it does everything for you. VERY EASY TO USE!

Why didn't I have this years ago? I love this thing and have been baking 1-2 loaves a week since getting it. It's very easy, and I had good success from the very first loaf. The think I like most, is that this makes a horizontal loaf more like a commercial loaf. It does a 2lb loaf, but you can also do a smaller 1.5lb. loaf if you don't want it quite so tall. So far, I have baked white, wheat, and fruit breads. The cleanup of the pan is very easy, and the paddles come out easy (or you can removed them prior to the baking) if you catch it in time. I do like to remove the paddles if possible because they dent the bread, but this is the case on all bread machines.Build seems sturdy, size is fairly compact, and has many settings. Cleans up well. All in all, a good starter machine.

Muy buena panadera facil de usar, depende de las recetas que usas, llevo mas de 15 año con la misma receta con otra panadera y me salió mas rico en esta.

First response is below and starts with "second one". Although I was not happy with the used like new bread maker condition, I decided to see if it worked and if it did I would have kept it, but the paddles would not knead the dough and kept getting stuck and you could hear the motor straining trying to turn the paddles. I was making a 2.5 pound wheat loaf, and I have the same brand and model from 20 years ago and that one never had this problem and still works fine. I thought it would be time for a nice new shiny one. The reason I want this particular model is it makes an actual loaf of bread, not some weird shaped loaf. Very disappointed this will not work.Second one I purchased USED. The first was returned because it was missing a paddle. This one is pretty beat up due to the bread pan being loose in the unit and making some pretty big marks to the inside, and has black grease on the inside rim, but at least I got two paddles. Also, there is something like crusty dough on the inside walls does not easily come off because it is scrapes from the pan. Not happy with "LIKE NEW" description. Will clean it and try it tonight and if it works I will probably keep it. Wish I would have just bought the new one. Not a very big price break for something beat up and greasy. This is used, and may have been in better shape before it was shipped with the bread pan detached and damaging the unit.

Ordered through Amazon UK and knowing it was. Coming from AmazonUS, I contacted Customer Services to get them to check the item could be used in UK. They assured me they would get back to me within 48hrs of contacting the seller. I didn't hear after 48hrs so contacted customer services again and they stated they had checked and item did come with UK power! Item arrived and need I say I was incorrectly informed. This came with a two pin US voltage plug... Not compatible in UK maybe unless you use a massive down transformer which could be the similar size again so I've sent it back.. Don't take customer services word for it, do your own research. This was a birthday gift but luckily I bought ahead of the time so chance to buy a UK brand one.

This is my first time having a bread machine. It did have a smell at first but I did follow the Manuel on how to run it before use to get that smell out. This is so easy to use. You just dump and go. I like that it has multiple functions especially the dough function since I make a lot of home made pizzas. I feel the machine looks nice. I like that it has a window to see everything. Noise level is not quite. You do hear it running but it’s not loud. I like that I can make a 3lb loaf. I recommend this. I feel your getting a good value for your money.

First use was using the old fashioned bread recipe from the manual. I forgot to change the setting for loaf type, so it actually used the French bread timer - the loaf turned out perfectly (ate half the loaf while still hot before I remembered I wanted a picture 😆). Today I used an online recipe for whole bread bread. This time, I forgot to change the setting to 2lb loaf, so it ran the 2.5lb cycle - again, the loaf was perfect.Excellent crust for both loaves - white was light crust, whole wheat was medium darkness. Great chew, tender inside. The whole wheat did not rise near as much, stopping ~ 1" from top of pan. The white bread was well above the edge, close to 1.5". The white bread made excellent toast. I'm guessing the wheat will as well.During the final rise, I lift the ends of the dough to remove knead paddles, then shape the dough to the pan. This allowed for easy loaf removal from pan without tearing large holes. I found the loaf can still stick to the spindles, but I simply turn the spindle from the bottom of the pan a couple times, and the loaf comes right out. It's all hot, so be careful.Very happy with this machine. It makes excellent bread, seems very forgiving for small hiccups (I still measure VERY carefully, which I believe to be critical, regardless), it cleans up super fast, and it's fairly quiet. It does cause a good shake on a free standing sideboard, but stays put. No issues with movement or shake on quartz counter.I highly recommend this machine.Update: I tried using instant yeast instead of bread machine today, and found the whole wheat/all purpose flour loaf rose higher, and produced a less dense loaf, more like what you expect from major brands. Very pleased with this result (last pic)

Having a Celiac in the house means you don't buy regular bread. And store-bought GF bread is expensive.I have made GF bread at home many times, with mixed results, but I was really looking for a way to make it a little easier. After a good bit of research, I settled on this machine. We use it exclusively for GF bread (of course) so my review pertains only to that mode.Pros:- The GF program does NOT have a second kneading, which is essential for GF bread- The Bake program allows you to add baking time, which you will need (see below)- The Custom program allows you to set up your own combination of kneading, rising, and baking, within certain limits (see below)Cons:- The longest baking time on the GF mode is 70 mins (3lb dark loaf); this isn't long enough for GF bread, so you'll have to switch to the Bake program and bake the bread longer- I have a feeling the machine bakes somewhat lower than 350, so it takes a long time to get the inside fully baked- The Custom program was the reason I bought this machine, thinking I would come up with the perfect program for GF bread; unfortunately there are several limitations that prevent this from being as great as I had hoped; read on- You cannot entirely eliminate the second kneading from the Custom program; you can set it to "0" mins, but it still spins the paddles once when it gets to that point in the process; that is enough to knock all the air out of the dough and ruin the GF bread; I tried working around this by setting KNEAD1 and RISE1 to the shortest times possible, then starting the machine empty and adding the ingredients at the beginning of KNEAD2- The longest baking time on the Custom program is 80 mins, which is not long enough; so you'll still have to use the Bake program to bake it longer- The machine does not save your settings on the Custom program; if you unplug the machine longer than 5 mins (who would leave a bread machine plugged in all the time?) the Custom program reverts back to the default settings; I suppose a person would get pretty quick with setting up the Custom program after doing it many times, but it's a small hassle that I think will lead most people to just use on of the other programsOverall, this machine does make pretty good GF bread. You'll have to scrape down the sides during the mixing, smooth the top out when it's done mixing, spray the top with cooking spray, and bake it for an additional 30-50 mins when the program is finished. With that in mind, and the right recipe, we have enjoyed the loaves made in this machine.West Bend was smart to offer a GF program with only one mixing, but they could have made a five-star machine by allowing longer baking times and a few important changes to the Custom options.
