I'm a contractor building a home using Hardie siding. I've been using this to cut the soffit. Works great! No dust at all and cuts straight. Very happy with it

Easy to cut either vinyl or aluminum, fast, precise, comfy to handle. Good choice. Great price.

The WEN metal shear is priced comparable to most other brands. I used it to cut steel panels for a post frame building. It did the job well.I could recommend two product improvements that would get it close to 5 stars: 1) The cord exits the handle straight down and interferes with getting the cutting head at the correct angle. I realize the head can rotate, but having the cord exit rearward instead of downward would make tool positioning easier. 2) The shear is capable of running way faster than it needs to. A reduction gear to slow it down and get finer slow speed control would be an improvement. For smaller jobs this tool works well, but I wouldn’t recommend it for daily professional use.

Had never used cement board siding on any project. Purchased this WEN Shear because I had a couple hundred linear feet of cuts to make and had heard saw blades wear quickly and produce a lot of dust. This shear worked flawlessly, cutting through the board faster than I thought it would. The cut edge it produced was clean and the process was virtually dust-free. Also, it is a lot quieter than a saw.All of these type to shears produce thin coils of waste (chips) as you cut which requires you to constantly brush out of the way as you go, but clean up is as simple as sweeping them off the floor when you're done.Overall, very satisfied with this tool. I am not highly skilled at this type of work, but found it to work great and it was simple to use. Highly recommended.

I needed to cut some narrow strip off 1/2" backer board, after damaging several pieces I bought this and was not only a time saver but in the end a money saver. Cuts really straight and clean if you don't force it. Let the guide lay flat and go slow will cut clean, otherwise the underside will look a little chewed up.

A hefty and solid piece of machinery. The cutter is a 1/4" blade between two side blades. Unfortunately, the side blades are offset, one is 1/16" longer than the other so the cut curves easily to one side and not so easy to the other. On flat sheet metal it's not to hard to cut a straight line. After about 4' I was getting the hang of it. On corrugated sheet (the trapezial kind not the rolling kind) it jams and stutters as it's pushed forward. The side blades dig and catch into the sheet.

We were building wheelchair accessible, raised garden beds. The main team on the project were 'Women who Build', from Habitat for Humanity. They were wonderful builders but I was concerned about cutting the sheet metal panels in a crowded park with a rotating blade that threw tiny shards.I immediately order this and it came in the next day! Perfect. They were so happy with the results and the ease of using it that they asked where I got it. I explained that if they are looking for a heavy duty one they run about $200 dollars. This one fits my needs and it is only $43.One of the ladies said she makes lawn art and wanted one of them to make hair for her art. I told her where to get it but she ended up just buying mine and I just ordered another one.I saw in the reviews where a blade broke so I did some research. The blades are easy to get and the same blades are used on nearly all the brands out there, such as Milwaulkee, Eastwood, Klutch, Genesis etc.I am Extremely happy with all of the WEN products I have purchased, and this is no exception.

Very impressed on the trial cuts . I am cutting 18 gauge steel with ease compared to grinding . I would say I can cut 8ft in under 1 minute no problem with this tool vs 2 zip discs , potential personal damage and about 10 minutes , yes , this steel is very hard Good buy for the buck for my purposes
