The heavy-duty body provides enough weight to prevent walking and vibration during use while the steel stand keeps sanding surfaces elevated over three feet off the ground. Our powerful 9A motor prevents the unit from bogging down under even the largest of loads, providing a belt speed of 2700 feet per minute and a disc speed of 3450 rotations per minute. The tension quick release lever gives you the power to switch and replace sandpaper grits as needed without wasting any time, making belt changes easier than ever. The spacious 11-3/4 x 6 inch disc table bevels up to 45 degrees while the belt tilts anywhere from 0 to 90 degrees to accommodate the needs of your particular project. The adjustable 9-3/4 x 5-3/4 inch sanding support doubles as both a work table and a work stop depending on the orientation of the belt. This package also includes an 80-grit sanding disc, an 80-grit sanding belt, a miter gauge for angled sanding, and two dust ports for minimal cleanup. And, because its a WEN product, your purchase comes backed by a two-year warranty, a nationwide network of skilled service technicians and a friendly customer help line. This belt sander replaced a belt sander that had problems with the keyway on the motor loosening and comming off. So I went with this Wen belt sander because it was a direct drive. Less parts means less problems. I would rate this belt sander as a good value for the average home woodworker, and light commercial use. Anything bigger... a commercial model would be best. It does not bog down very much on most pieces of wood that I use. I think the minimum size for a belt sander is 6 by 48. I have smaller belt sanders that bog down. They don't match the speed and power of this belt sander. It took me about a hour to assemble the stand, and get the sander running.

I've put a good deal of use on mine and it's still going strong.I use it for wood and steel and the motor has plenty of power to do both.

Got exactly what I paid for. Nice easy belt change with a simple lever. Not a top quality sander but adequate for my use, small house projects and hobby type loading.

Fantastic value. Used this several times and it works great. The addition of the cleaner is awesome as it extends the life of the sanding discs.

This is a pretty good belt sander for the price. It should work well for home shop or light commercial use. It is not suitable for continuous use in a machine or fab shop.I noticed on mine after I mounted it on the included stand that the bolts that hold the motor to the cast base were not tight. I had to unbolt the sander from its base and move it a little to access the screws that hold the plate that covers the electrical connections -- and the motor mounting bolts -- to tighten the bolts. Check the motor mounting bolts prior to assembly.Assembly instructions OK but not great. You should probably plug the sander into a 20A branch circuit; 15A breakers may blow when the motor tries to start.Buy good quality replacement sanding belts, Norton or similar.Recommended for the price. Commercial belt sander/grinders run four times more at minimum.

The dust flies everywhere. I have a dust collection plastic box next to it that gets most air born micro small stuff , but it makes a huge mess. Accuracy is not the best, still, Iโ€™m glad I bought it as itโ€™s very useful for very small pieces under 5โ€.

I've been shopping a lot before choosing this belt/disc sander. I had read the reviews and compared it with similar products from other brands. So far I'm really happy with this little tool. I'm a guitar builder and I use sanders a lot - but always for light jobs, nothing heavy duty and I'm not using it to sand metal. My first surprise was that it is actually smaller than what I had imagined from the pictures. The flat surface of the belt sander is about 14-inch long, and the disc sander is pretty small (6-inch). The structure is sturdy and quite heavy for it's size, so it's very stable. The motor isn't noisy at all. It's super easy to install. Everything was working fine in a few minutes. Now you want to know if it does a good job, huh? Well the answer is YES.I love this little machine. It's cheap and well worth the money. That being said, I've only received it a few days ago and I don't know if it will last a long time or if it will fail me soon. But so far, I'm super happy with my purchase.

Arrived on time. Easy to put together by myself and Iโ€™m not very good at building. It works really well! I recommend also getting a higher grit sandpaper because it comes with 80. I bought an extra belt of 110 grit and itโ€™s very easy to switch. It is a great price!

My only bad experience with Wen has been their rotary tools, twice. Those were garbage, I now buy only Dremel. However this tool and the drill press I've now owned and used for years are flawless for anything I've used them for. I just finished off a wall cabinet with this sander (the same day it arrived!). The adjustments on the side sanding table are rock solid, as is the overall construction of the tool itself. The only question will be the motor over time. Changing out the belts on the main sander is insanely easy and quick. I ordered the steel base rather than cast iron for weight and portability, and it's square and solid. The only con is that you'd better silicone or liquid nail the rubber feet in place or you'll lose them! It's a great tool, and Wen has finally gotten the hang of it. And it's very simple to set up and put together. A shame the tariffs will start making them more expensive or unavailable, but it's going to happen regardless eventually.
