I've never had a scroll saw before, but I know they're used for cutting tight curves and intricate detail... So I jumped on the bandwagon... It seems like a decent machine, but I'm only 1 day into it... Cutting thru some black walnut was tough on the smaller blade until - B-O-I-O-I-O-I-N-G - the little blade snapped... Then it wasn't so tough anymore...UPDATE, DAY 340:I absolutely HATE this scroll saw... It's nothing to do with the WEN name or build quality... That's all good... I just can't keep blades in this thing... They keep snapping, no matter what tension I crank them to... One day I snapped 10 blades - I was fit to be tied... This WEN scroll saw works great, when it stays bladed... But once it reaches EOL, or gets sold, I will NEVER buy another one by ANY name... I'll revert back to my coping saw...Blade changes are real easy... Noise level is negligible when the shop vac is running - the noises just blend together... But let's talk about the VIBRATION... WOW, does it ever have a vibration level of 9... Yes, it's bolted down to a heavy table... You can't leave anything on the table that it's mounted to, 'cuz [whatever] will most certainly hit the floor... It will shake the fillings outta you're teeth, especially cutting thru hardwood...UPDATE: I'm figuring it out, and I've gotten around the vibration issue... It's all about the blade tension, speed, wood hardness, and how many beers I've had...This is my 4th WEN machine... My shop is slowly turning orange and black... I really like the WEN machines 'cuz they're well built, they do a good job, and they're WAY cheaper than the big-name brands (of which I also own many)... The big 4214T variable-speed drill press is a true work-of-art... Some really great thinking went into that one...I guess my new scroll saw is a nice, well-built machine... I'll just hafta give it some time to get used to it...

It’s ok if you plan to use it occasionally, but vibrates way too much for frequent use.
