I needed to glue a bunch of older chairs, and these clamps were a godsend. They are reversible and can be used as spreaders, which definitely beat trying to pry the pieces apart yourself, or using a rubber mallet. The build quality is pretty good, and you should be able to use them for most jobs outside of something that you need a really heavy duty clamp for.

i wasn't sure what to expect but i am very pleased with these. i've had problems with pony jorgensen where the clamp slides on the bar, i've had problems where irwin can't seem to tighten any more than 1/2 a squeeze after the clamp faces touch the material and the pands slip off every time. i've not had those issues with these. the bar is rigid and seems re-enforced on the edges. it has good grip. the pads seem to stay put. it has a nice, tight action. i would trade a lot of my clamps from the "known" brands for these. i'll be buying more

Purchased these clamps to hold lumber in place while I was repairing the railing on a porch. They were easy to use but the hold could have been a little stronger. Needed to pull in some wood that had a slight warp in it and wouldn’t pull it completely flush.
