I purchased this for my grandson's room; he is nine years old and high on the autism spectrum, waking up at 2-3 a.m. every night and confident it is time to begin his day, which, for months and months... and months, has disrupted the rhythm of the sleep/wake cycle of the five other family members. Randomly, I thought, "Why not try a white noise machine"? So I ordered two, one for their family and one for myself. At 77, I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep. I tried it the first night, and it worked exceptionally well. After checking out all the sounds sounds, I couldn't decide on a particular one. So I chose the "heartbeat," which isn't the sound of a heartbeat but more of the sound of blood swooshing through veins. I had always assumed that type of sound was primarily for infants, but after giving it more thought, I realized that the pulsing sound is a primal noise to all of us ... instinctively. It's the first sound we ever hear. The following day, when I checked with my daughter to get the results of my grandson's first night using the noise machine (having suggested using the pulse sound) she excitedly responded, "OMG!!!. It worked!!! It turned off all the "other noises" in his head!! He slept til 6 AM !!!!! What a blessing for their family.

Apparently missed the return window by a day.This is a great tiny sound machine...except that the three actual white noise settings all have a faint, but discernable, metallic/signaling noise. Very distracting and almost impossible for brain to turn off. Defeats the entire purpose of white noise. I didn't realize the return window just closed. I tried a few nights on each setting. Great size, terrible noise. It's like the sound file that is repeating had a error that plays on repeat all night. Just wonderful.

We got this rechargeable white noise machine for backup during power outages when the neighbors need to run their generator. It is a well-made, sturdy, compact, very portable sound machine. It is great that it has a headphone jack, too. Using and charging the sound machine is very straight forward, easy and fast. Color is true white. Sound is great and has surprising and good volume. It some good nature sounds (rain, ocean, birds) though I wish there were more. I think the nature sound selection may be less than half of the sounds offered on this machine.I am on the fence about the fireplace sound. I was really hoping it would sound authentic yet I'm not sure it's a real fire sound. There was one sound I could not tell what it was. Maybe a dog walking? There are several lullaby options and there are engine noises, city noises and chattering people. There are no chimes or singing bowls. Wish there were more nature sound options and fire/fireplace options and less "noisy city" type noises. However, the several nature sounds that are included are quite good. The rain and ocean sounds are incredible, probably better than ones I have listened to on the tube. The search continues for a sound machine that has the same good quality, but more nature sounds and also chimes, bells and much less city type noises. The city sounds may appeal to city people who have only known a noisy world.

it’s small size is very convenient. I keep it on the bed next to my pillow and it’s easy to throw in a bag to travel to fly. It doesn’t have a lot of sound options but I found one that I love and that’s what I keep it on. The control pads are slightly indented so that it’s easy to find them in the dark to turn it off/on, volume control, etc..It has made a big difference to the good in me being able to shut off my mind and relax to go to sleep. I love it.

This sound machine is great. It is small, so it doesn't take up much space and would be easy to take on trips. Has 21 sleep noises to choose from (volume control too), has a timer and stays charged about 4-5 days before being recharged.
