I have only used this maybe five times where the light will actually turn on. I have charged the battery and still nothing. It’s basically useless to me. I am so disappointed with how much money I spent. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

The Welch Allyn otoscope handle was perfect for my needs. My old handle had worn out over 30 or so years and the connection with the otoscope head wasn’t tight. The light would flicker off during exams of crying children, making the exam last too long for the kids. This new handle has a tight fit and the problem has resolved .

Sturdy and easy to plug in and charge. Works great. Ni cad battery is not my favorite but it is what it is with this model. You should let it go dead before charging to prevent partial charge memory. The instructions said charge it out of the box, that it was not charged. But mine had some charge so used it until it went dead then charged it. Nice product. Had one decades ago. I wish I hadn't then bought the lithium desk top set. A lot of problems with that one: 1.You are not suppose to leave them in the charger. 2. The plastic handles are thin and seem kind of cheap. 3. The bottom charge connection is fragile. I was putting metal paper clips under the plastic for years to get them to work and charge. 4. And I was always twisting the top and bottom sections to try and get the light on.This one is solid and no issues so far.
