This reducer didn’t fit over my 3/8 grinder spindle.The 5/8 had the right thread size for 5/8’s attachments.

I have a black and decker sander/polisher that I wanted to use with some polishing pads and this worked great to convert its threads.

Quality was excellent but the the female 3/8" thread did not fit my grinder (Makita n9514B) so I was unable to use. I was trying to convert the grinder to a 5/8" connection to add a disc to my grinder. Will try something else.

This allowed me to convert an old model Black and Decker sander/polisher to accept the newer 5/8 inch attachments. The old Black and Decker is well built and didn't want to toss it. This brought it right back to life.

I expected the Harbor Freight air grinder to come with metric threads, but no... The one Chinese tool that decided to go with 3/8 24 threads on the arbor. So my collection of metric adaptors was useless. This little gem remedies that problem and allows the larger disks (or is that discs?) and accessories to work. Made from steel, it's good.

Delivery was propmpt. Packaging indicated a 5/8 11 to 3/8 24, but the adapter was a 5/8 11 to M10 1.5. It was stamped on the adapter, and needless to say it did not fit on the 3/8 24 grinder shaft. Returned it, and had a replacement in two days. Main reason for not giving only one star. However, the replacement was identical to the first one shipped. Weiler, the manufacturer must have an issue with how they are packaging these things. Got a refund as I did not feel getting a third replacement was going to lead to a better result. Product looked to be of good quality.

This adapter fit a drill motor I had scrapped from an old drill which had a broken trigger switch. The adapter allowed me to connect the motor to a 5/8"-11TPI coupling nut to turn a gear with a 5/8" bore in a DIY project. I added a set screw in the hex to ensure the adapter would not unscrew from the drill motor.
