Great for sourdough starters. I love the glass top while starter is feeding at room temp. It comes w/ a seal & clasps for storing in the fridge between feedings.

If you do sourdough, just get them now!! I used mason jars to mix my starter for over a year, because I already had them so why buy something else. Trust me, BUY THEM NOW! The straight sides are so easy to scrape and clean. It’s easy to tell how much it’s risen/doubled. The glass lid…no fighting rust spots…without the seal keeps it covered while letting gasses escape, or with the seal makes it airtight for storing in the fridge. I got this smaller size mostly for storing my starter in the fridge when not using, & maintaining a small daily feed on days I’m not baking. I also bought the larger size for when I’m making larger amounts for bake days. They are great quality, fairly thick glass so durable as long as you don’t drop it from the microwave on the tile floor (ask me how I know :/ ), and simply make life easier!

I use it to feed my starter, which I keep very small (unless I know I'm going to bake). I keep a 5g starter+25g water+25g flour. It's perfect for that size. Works great for 10-50-50 as well but bigger than that, it'll be a mess :)

I use these for my sourdough starter. It's the perfect size, and I love the style of lid. The shape makes it so easy to mix my starter - no awkward or hard to reach crevices. And the lid (without the orange ring) lets the starter breath just the right amount. They are a little pricey, but I find they are superior to other jars in terms of quality and durability.
