Had a heck of a time installing it, the screws that came with it was to short. I had to leave out the washer on the top side to get it to grab enough to hold it in place. If the screws would have been an 1/8 of an inch longer it would have been perfect. Going to look for and buy screws that will allow the washers to be used. It does look good once you have it installed.

I found this rather difficult to install by myself. And I was more disappointed in the quality and longevity of the item.I live in south Georgia where it's commonly well above 100 degrees on the surfaces of the vehicle, and it appears to have "melted" or deformed the structural integrity of the visor. (Pictures to be added in an edit). It causes the visor to vibrate with the wind off the top of the glass making a very loud and obnoxious sound at about 55 mph. So I had to wedge a spacer in between to keep that from happening - rendering the sunroof now useless. It worked to suppress wind noise initially, but for the brand quality and price, I would have expected longer performance than a just few months.

Nice to be able to crack the sunroof about 3-4 inches and relatively noiseless!

Quality of this unit is very good , that being said installation is extremely difficult. The screws used in conjunction with the magic clips are entirely to short . All it would take to make this unit 100% is screws that were 1/8 longer . Weathertech products are usually second to none . This unit could have been scored five stars if longer screws would have been provided . The unit is installed on my Suburban, thanks to longer screws , looks great and performs great .

This installed on my 2011 avalanche in less than 5 minutes. I purchased one that had been returned. It had extra hardware from weather tech and longer screws that obviously were not original. I watched the video 2x. I set it on the roof and sat on the center console. I put one clip in and started a screw. I didn't even have to hold the clip. I then repeated on the other side. Once started I adjusted it's placement. It easily cleared the xm antenna. Then snugged dow the screws. That's it. I ran it down the interstate at 75 mph on a 30 degree night. You can eaisly hold a conversation with the roof open.

Be sure you either have three hands or another person helping you when you install this. On my 2007 Tahoe, I had to get my roommate to climb up on the running board with me, put his arms over the roof rack, and physically flex/push the deflector downward so that the screw would meet the "Magic Clip" and actually give it something to anchor/screw into. As others have mentioned, videos and the instruction guide make it look like a breeze, but in reality you (and likely others) *will* be cussing at this thing as you put it on and wondering if they've sent you the wrong product. One other review mentioned longer screws/different mounting hardware, which I tried with very suboptimal results. It's a pain, but try to get creative with what's in the package. Also, be careful not to overtighten the screws as I caused a pretty nice sized crack around one of the mounting holes while trying to make sure it wasn't going to be flying off the roof. On the plus side, it still looks nice and seems to perform well.

I have had several Weathertech products in the past, all without issue. This one broke that string. The clips and screws were obviously not for this product. After calling Weathertech - and getting nowhere, I went to local hardware store and bought right attaching hardware.

Fits well... not a super easy installation but doable if you're relatively handy and super careful with a screwdriver. Will vibrate loudly at speeds in excess of 90 mph at which time someone should notify the authorities.

Now that it's installed, I like having this Sunroof Wind Deflector on my Avalanche. I can have the sunroof open with little air noise. My wife and I can have a conversation while the sunroof is open. With the back windows rolled down a bit, there is a great cross-breeze without too much noise. It was not the easiest thing to install, but once I got everything lined up, it went on without any changes to the body of the truck (didn't have to drill anything). What I found worked for drainage was to cut-up a plastic straw a couple of times, then slide the folded straw pieces under the deflector, between the rubber "foot" and truck roof, then re-tighten the mounting screws so the deflector is secure. That has allowed the rain to drain without flooding the interior of the truck (that was a fun experience to find water in my truck, but an easy enough fix --- and, it may have been an error on my part during the installation that caused the leak; not blaming WeatherTech.)
