Because these deflectors really aren’t designed to fit specific vehicles, but at best a compromise to have one deflector fit as many vehicles as possible, you end up with the proverbial ‘square peg in a round hole’ - it turns out to be a lousy solution. Due to the deflector’ compromise of NOT being cut specifically to fit the curvature of my Escalade’s roof, the rubber seal’s lip curls up after about 45 days of use. This results in a gap between the roof and the deflector....and at speed creates a loud buffeting noise. The gap also collects dirt and debris that will damage the paint if use is continued. It’s now a throwaway!

I installed this on my 2003 Escalade with moderate difficulty. Finished product looks great. My only issue was getting the 2 screws that hold it in place started into the thumb nuts. After about 10 minutes of struggling I realized that after sitting on roof in the direct sunlight, the unit began to flex more and I was able to manipulate it enough to get the screws to start and then it took about 1 minute to finish the job. Good looking. Very satified.

The deflector appears well-built but a PAIN to install using the supplied metal clips. The screws did not want to reach the clips and could have been longer. I had to force the deflector down, almost bending it to finally get the screws to "bite" and screw into the clips. There has to be a better way to attach something to your roof! I would have been OK with adhesive which is exactly what I'll have to use if I want to keep this deflector.... see below!I was very skeptical once I finally got it installed because the clips fit into the sunroof breaking the weather seal between the sunroof glass and roof of truck. I installed this on a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado. If you have a Chevrolet you know the weather seal is a very thin hard rubber "gasket" that lines the glass. I was afraid the clips would lead to leaks in around the sunroof. What a nightmare that would be..... oh wait.... that's exactly what happened!!! A few days later it rained and I thought I should check on the truck to see if my fears came true. Sure enough I had water running out of my map light/sunglasses console and a soaked headliner. I immediately pulled to the truck into my garage and took this thing off. I worked hours drying the headliner and console with a hair dryer to prevent any electrical problems. So there you go, use extreme caution installing anything between a weather seal and its point of contact.I will not be installing this deflector unless I use adhesive of some type. Also for those that know cars and are asking.... YES I checked the sunroof drains with compressed air and they were clear. I believe the water came in so fast it prevented them from keeping up. With all that said... this isn't the worst part! I immediately contacted Weathertech to advise them of this issue. Not looking for a return (I know better... Amazon.com sellers aren't "authorized" sellers) or any money for the damage. I simply wanted to let them know of this serious design flaw. Besides I have Weathertech mats, splash guards and hood visor... obviously I like their stuff. That was a few weeks ago and I haven't heard one word back! Not a "sorry for your trouble" or "thanks for letting us know." I even specifically said I was just letting them know and not asking for a return. Nothing... nada! PS - Be aware that this "USA" company means designed here, visor was made in Germany.... yeap..... Germany!

very nice product , but the screws are very hard to attach on the second side, you have to tighten the first side down just to get the other side started but the noise level is reduced greatly.......

Quality made but the rubber strip in the middle area starts lifting and then the wind and car washes make it vibrate which defeats the purpose of the deflector. After it comes loose enough to vibrate then you have to tuck the rubber back into place which last until you hit highway speeds or another car wash. I would pass on this. The clips are a pain also. If I ever buy another it will be double stick taped attachment.

It fit great and looked good and I thought it was working good until the wind blew hard or I got on the interstate and it would start vibrating and buzzing so loud I couldn't hear myself think let alone talk to anyone in the vehicle due to it having too much flexibility in the middle of the deflector.

I purchased this along with a set of four side window air deflectors. The sunroof deflector is much more effective in diverting wind and cutting down noise than the metal deflector that pops up when the sunroof is opened that was installed by the manufacturer. When that pops up, because it is perforated, it creates a lot of wind noise. The WeatherTech deflector does not replace the factory pop-up deflector, but goes over it so that the wind never hits the factory deflector. It is smoothly curved and has a rubber gasket that seals against the roof of the vehicle (mine is an '06 Avalanche) so that wind and water do not get underneath it.The installation is not easy for one person to do, but is possible. The deflector is held to the vehicle by a metal clip on each end that clips to the bottom edge of the sunroof opening and is attached with a screw that goes thru a pre-drilled hole in the deflector from the top into the clip. It is a tight connection that necessitates holding the clip in place with one hand while reaching through the open sunroof, and screwing in the screw with a screwdriver in the other hand. My vehicle is tall, so I was standing on a ladder to do this. As I said, it would be much easier with someone else in the car holding the clip in place. The deflector is nice looking and makes driving with the sunroof open much more enjoyable. The wind noise and buffeting is cut way down and it allows air circulation without feeling like you are in a wind tunnel.
