Removal of the old element and installation of the new element is not childs play, but it only take a few minutes if you are paying attention. The only problem I faced was one of the connectors IN THE RANGE was a tad short and constantly wanted to pull back and disappear. This just means you need to hang onto the damn wire and connect it to the new element first. The old element got broken in several places during the gymnastics, but it was being tossed anyway. Working fine for nine months, no issues. Your milage may vary.

The unit arrived on time. It was very slightly warped, likely a manufacturing flaw, but otherwise in perfectly new shape. I installed and ran the over through a 4 hour self-clean. Element is working great.

After shopping for a new range, we realized we have excellent taste - in what we'd like to replace our old one with. 💲💲💲😮 Sooo, we priced the broiler element, the part we knew was broken. 💲 Then we came to Amazon.com. 👍 This GE broiler element fits our old Hotpoint's oven. Hubby installed it while I went to a mammogram appointment. (This once, I'd have traded chores if I could've. 😉)Hubby says it was easy to install. "Just make sure you don't pull the wires (of the oven) too far out to get them to the broiler." Voila! We can make cornbread again. (I never cared for that stove-top version.)Now if I can get that induction stove-top, double-oven with True Convection out of my mind. 😮 💭
