I used on both 2.5 drives PC recognized the drive as soon as I plugged it in and restarted the PC.On the 3.5 drive even though the light on the unit was blue it required a 12v 1.5a power supply which did not come with it, but you can find these all over your house for other equipment. I found mine on and old backup drive. Restarted the PC and there was the drive. IT WAS NOT FAST loading all the data. Reminder you're using a USB 3.0 which are not as fast as the SATA connection. However once it was loaded it was extremely fast to access data. I pulled a massive amount of data, pictures and movies off some old pc before scrapping them out.

One star removed for the fact that it didn't include information on WHAT power adapter to use if you're interfacing with a hard drive rather than an SSD (Yes, I could have bought the version with a power adapter, but it would have been nice if they gave information in case I needed it in the future), but otherwise VERY nice.I got it to transition over to an SSD from an internal hard drive and it worked very nicely for that. Fast, efficient, overall a good value.

Excellent product and price. Already had a AC/12VDC converter from previous adapter and worked perfectly as the DC input plug was the same as other adapters.

It works! my early purchase of this (Not exactly this one) Does not work. And it can possibly kill your drive. I guess technology has evolved the right way this time lol.
