I have tried these on several camping trips, but the solar cells do not charge the lights sufficiently. One light will stay on for a few hours, the other light is so dim it is useless. It is a poor quality product, very overpriced. Unfortunately, it seems to be too late for me to initiate a return.

I could not believe when I received them how cheap they were. More likely! I'll be returning them.

They lasted one month. I purchased four lights. Two don't work at all anymore and the other two work for a couple minutes after smacking them a couple of times. Don't waste your money.

The idea of these is genius. I banged my shin on camper steps one too many times and set off in search of a solution. Unlike an overhead light that casts shadow on open and already dark steps these make clear exactly where each step is. I’ve been very happy with the quality of the lights themselves. My only complaint is the adhesive of one of my lights just didn’t hold up. It kept falling off the step and I ended up having to rig it up to keep it in place.

The photo shows everything that's included, as well as the two light options. These are made of a sturdy plastic, and are quite lightweight. The switch is easy to toggle into cool or warm light options, but neith light is super bright. Having said that, it's a good amount of light to illuminate steps, and super bright lights would likely irritate neighbors in an RV park. The magnetic strips have quite a strong attraction. I would recommend this set of lights, with a 5-Star rating for a quality product.

Second "headline": Only charges from solar panel so totally dependent on sunThe double package comes with*two hotdog-bun-sized lights with a small solar panel,*4 screws for wood with 4 inserts for screwing into something other than wood,*2 rectangles of 3M double sided tape, and*4 large rectangular magnets with 1-side adhesive. The switch is a 3-way slide with "warm-off-bright white" settings. It's located on the mounting side.Don't use the tape by itself unless you never want to turn it off or change the color! (You have to remove the light to get to the switch). The magnets don't fit the back of the light as well as the 3M tape (no conforming depression) but would allow attachment to an iron surface with the ability to remove to get to the switch on the back. With 2 magnets, 1 on the light and the other on a surface, it can be attached to something like an aluminum surface with the possibility of removal. It seems likely that when removing the 2 magnets from each other, the light would peel off from the magnet as the magnets are strong and hard to separate and the attachment to the back of the light is not 100%. There are gaps on the light where the adhesive wouldn't attach - the screw mount holes and the inset for the 3M tape, which look to be greater than 50% of the attachment area.Unfortunately, I can't use the magnets on my RV steps as there's no room on the steps as they fold up under the door. That leaves the stick-on options on the body or someplace else. When the solar panel is receiving light, the LEDs are off. When it becomes dark enough on the solar panel, the lights turn on. There's a choice of warm yellower lights or bright white. It works pretty well and mounts easily although the plastic casing doesn't seem to be very robust. I'm not sure how many hits with a snow shovel or kicks with a shoe it could take and still be in one piece. There is also no template to drill any pilot holes for the screws. They are 2.5" or 6.5cm on center.I mounted 1 light on the deck step using the wood screws provided. (Drill pilot holes) This allows the light to be quickly removed to get to the switch. The holes for the screws in the housing, however, might let water in that I don't see anywhere that it can get out. I would check it after each rain to see if it needs emptying. Only the top of the mounting hole is open, but water could run down the screw to the inside.Starting with a full charge, after 3 days of rain the light only received enough power during the day to stay lit for only a couple of hours after being on all night draining to 0. After 2 hours it was a dull glow, but it was more than expected. After a half day of sun then overcast (the panel faces SW), the light stayed lit about 3 hours and then went into low glow mode. The only way to charge these is via the built in solar panel, so you have to wait until you get some clear days before it will charge fully. The flyer that comes with the lights basically tells you what's in the box (except the magnets) in 5 languages.3.5 stars

The concept is great, but they just dont charge well under the stairs. Also the magnetic strips fell off after 1 day.

I got these to use on the steps of my motorhome so that I can see the steps at night without turning on the very bright porch light. I am very happy with these lights. They charge fully during the day and are very bright at night. They have settings for two color temperatures, warm and bright white, and multiple mounting options. I haven't decided how I want to mount them, so right now I just have them set near the steps. They hold enough charge to last through the night. I have not had an opportunity to test whether they are waterproof, as the seller claims, since it has not rained in this part of Texas in a long time. I can imagine these being used in a number of ways besides as RV step lights. They could be used as porch lights, walkway lights, gate area lights, etc. The bottom line is this is a very simple but well designed product that works well anywhere there is a need for light but no way to run wires.
