Camera Float Product Description

  • A camera float keeps your phone or action camera buoyant, preventing it from sinking. For non-waterproof devices, use a waterproof case or pouch for added security.

  • Our camera floats feature a secure attachment method that connects to your phone or camera's strap loop or housing. This ensures a firm grip and easy retrieval if the camera slips from your hand.

  • Camera floats are versatile and compatible with various camera types, including GoPro action and waterproof point-and-shoot cameras. Ensure compatibility by checking the weight and size specifications.

  • Yes, camera floats are made from buoyant materials like foam, designed to withstand water exposure and provide protection against moisture and corrosion.

  • Camera floats are ideal for calm to moderate water conditions like pools, lakes, or oceans with gentle waves. Consider using two floats for added security for rougher conditions or activities like surfing or whitewater rafting.

Does what it should a bit bulky. I have not tested it for camera floater. I dislike that wrist strap can detach from unit might not be secure - seems alright but makes me nervous.

One of these is sufficient to float an iPhone 15 but I use two for peace of mind. I bought my first set 4 years ago. While they still float fine I bought a new set out of precaution against normal UV damage. Even with a self floating dry case I use these for visibility and an easy handle to grab.

I bought one last year to use on my Minnkota I pilot trolling motor remote control. I attach it to the remote and then attach the Nordic to a next trap. fortunately I have not dropped the remote in the water so I can't say how the float actually works, but the float is large enough I think it would support the remote without a problem . it is very durable.my most recent purchase was to use the floats on other items.

I am terrible with phones, I've lost 2 phones while paddling rivers/lakes over the years. I purchased this waterproof float in 2021 after getting caught in a storm on a lake and losing an expensive phone I didn't have insurance on. I've paddled over 100+ trips since purchasing this floaty and haven't lost a phone since. I paired this float with a waterproof phone case and my phone has fallen in the water numerous times with it on; thru rapids, storms, rocky streams, and deep lakes and this floaty has never let me down. The bright yellow color has helped me find my phone after it has fallen off my paddleboard/kayak thru rapids. I can't recommend this product more. Saved me from replacing 2-3 phones over the years. 10/10 would purchase again, but I won't have to because this thing last for years

I bought these for my yearly friend tubing trip down the river. I attach them to my gopro and my phone (in a waterproof case obviously) so that if they are accidentally dropped, they won't sink or float away and get lost before anyone notices! The bright yellow color makes it super easy to spot anywhere!

I didn't know if this would work for me because it’s for cameras up to 7 oz or 200 grams. My Olympus TG-5 weighed in at 258 g (9.1 oz) but I decided to take a chance after calculating the underwater weight, which is what really matters for floating the camera. I measured the displacement of the camera by putting it in a measuring cup and filling it to 1 liter. I took the camera out and the level dropped to 800 ml so the camera displaced 200 ml. From that I calculated the underwater weight = 258 g - 200 ml * (1 g / ml) = 58 g. (Water weighs 1 g per ml.) I guessed that it would be able to float 58 g. After attaching one of the floats, I verified that it easily floated my camera. To get a better idea of the underwater weight capacity of the floats I used some combination wrenches. My 13 mm wrench floated easily. It has an underwater weight of 87 g - 11 ml * (1g/ml) = 76 g. A 14 mm wrench sunk quickly. It's underwater weight was 114 g - 14 ml * (1g/ml) = 100 g. You can get a much better idea of whether your camera will float or not by calculating the underwater weight this way. If it's close to or less than 76 g, it will float. If it's close to or over 100 g it will not float unless you use more than one float. It's comfortable, sized right and appears to be constructed well. I used it on a recent cruise in the caribbean and it worked great.

Tested this in a bucket today, for my Nikon AW120 (212 grams, 7.1 oz). Only ONE tether was required to easily float the camera, and the yellow strap was floating well above the water line, maybe 30% exposed above the surface- so I would think that ONE of these straps should float a much heavier camera (maybe 250 grams or more?). This was in fresh tap water- salt water flotation should be even better (salt water is heavier than fresh, less flotation required). These straps also include a nylon "quick disconnect"- so you can quickly & easily remove the flotation strap when not needed. I'm really pleased with that, because the flotation strap is a bit bulky- I want to be able to quickly add or remove the flotation as needed. The flotation strap is is a bit of a tight fit for my large hands- it's a little awkward and slow to get my hand and wrist inserted... I guess that if I had my way, I'd give potential buyers the option of two wrist strap sizes, "regular" and "large hand". Even my large hands fit however- just a bit of a stretch, and a bit slow to get on and off.Because of this, and because of the extra needed bulk of the flotation strap, I am planning on using this strap only when needed- when going out on the water (snorkeling, kayaking), and I'll be using a regular non-flotation nylon strap otherwise. That's difficult now, because I will need to remove the flotation strap, in order to fit a standard strap through the small AW120 strap fixture.I plan to re-engineer the extra quick-disconnect from the second extra (un-needed) flotation strap, to accept my regular nylon wrist strap, so that I can quickly change from one to the other (snap one off, snap the other on)- but it would be REALLY great, if a standard non-flotation strap (with matching quick-disconnect), or just an extra plastic male quick-connect (to which a standard wrist strap could be connected), was included in this kit, for exactly that purpose... I know that I'd be happy to pay the extra expense for the added versatility.Still- I think this is a great flotation strap. Five stars.joel.
