This was a great machine for our cafe until the coating came off. It started flaking in the center and just kept peeling up on our bread. I will try a different brand next time.

Purchased 2 of these units in June 2016. I use them for my business because it states that these are "commercial" grade products. We used them for panini's and grilled cheeses in our food truck at events twice per week for three months . Last week, approximately three months after purchase, both units top plates stopped working! Some sort of short in the wiring, can hear sizzle and crackle like an electrical short. Have contacted Amazon about the issue, have not gotten a response about the problem yet. For the price of these units, if they last three months, definatley not worth the price. Amazon was kind enough to exchange the items, however, I received the replacements on Sept. 13th and now its Oct.28th and again these Items are already not working. This time the lower heating elements are not getting the lower plates hot. The top plates reach optimal cooking temps, while the lowers are still cool enough to touch. I have reverted back to using to really old presses to keep my business going. But this product should last longer than 6 weeks! This time I want something that lasts like its suppose to!

Over the years, I've used more than a number of Panini Grills. This one, for me tops them all. It gets super hot, and the cast iron grill surfaces are amazing for heat conduction. Cleanup takes a while, depending on what you cook on it. I've made panini on there (suggestion, place your panini INSIDE parchment paper to avoid cleanup) and that was a very simple thing to do.I've also grilled Cornish hens on it. The grill performed admirably, cooking them well, and all the way through. However, that particular cleanup was very time consuming. From a size standpoint, the grill is massive, compared to the standard Cuisinart or Breville, but you get what you pay for. With this grill, I can make multiple panini's at once (as many as four). as well as cooking burgers and chicken breasts. We use it specifically to reheat pizza throughout the week for our kids' lunches and snacks.I've only had it two months, but from the early returns, if you're serious about having one of these at home, you can't go wrong.

The top of the grill rests unevenly on the top of the paninis. If there is an adjustment for this it isn't clear. I would prefer that the top grill rest level on the sandwich...the front end seems to tip up. Other than that it is a nice grill and cooks to perfection :)

Amazing panini machine but takes a while to warm up and it weighs 45 pounds.

I owned a Griddler before this and it was ok for home use EXCEPT when the coating began coming off of the aluminum grill plates. I wanted cast iron grill plates. This Panini grill has cast iron plates (require seasoning) and a dedicated circuit but that aside it will be a lifetime investment.I use my Panini grill as an indoor grill for way more than just sandwiches. I grill chicken breasts, beef and anything else I desire. Well built, HEAVY 45 pounds, well designed drip pan, and ample heat for anything you would desire to cook.

This panini maker is awesome. Weighs a ton but that is because you get two solid cast iron grills top and bottom. This is heavy duty stuff. However, it does not take up more space than a regular grill because it is taller, not necessarily wider. After reading the reviews about snap on grills of others and losing heat top/bottom, there was no way I was going to chince on a non-commercial grill. This is the only way to go.
