The mechanism has too much slop and gives erroneous readings unless the user is very very vigilant with checking it thoroughly for each weighing...poor quality and poorly constructed...not suitable for precise or accurate weighings...

Needed a traditional double pan balance to use as a prop to illustrate alternative material lightweighting in video and this item suits that purpose perfectly -- added bonus was being able to obtained it less expensively than other sources. Has all the features of a good laboratory type balance that I remember from school and includes a set of weights. Shipped same day in OEM packaging and arrived intact and fully functional.
