Aluminum alloys tend to react with oxygen in the natural environment to form a thin film of aluminum oxide. However, this naturally occurring film is thin and uneven, with limited protection. Through antioxidant treatment, a dense, uniform and more stable oxide film can be formed on the surface of aluminum alloys.
