fit perfectly on the 1998 Jeep Cherokee and easy to install. make sure to jack the body up so it goes over the axle with ease. i also had to clean up the end for the rear of the muffle to remove the burrs.

I had a diesel swapped cherokee & wasn't wanting to spend $300+ for a custom routed exhaust at a shop. So using all pre bent setups + this walker tailpipe. It fit & looks wonderfully.On a 1997+ you do need to remove the far back hangar. At least i did since it didn't have the factory bracket.

You would think that shipping a tailpipe would be a challenge but it came VERY well protected in its own box and about a mile of bubble cushions! Not a dent or scratch.As for the product, Walker always produces great products and are well made/fit perfect. Walker has not failed me yet.Thank you!

To clear up some confusion, a 97 XJ uses the rear hanger which is not needed for later model XJs. Perfect fit, Both hangers. Fit easily into the Walker Sound FX muffler sold on amazon. I picked that up for 52 at Car Quest though. Why must they put the paper sticker on the metal though? So dumb.

This is a standard OE design value replacement. Material looks to be a standard gauge aluminized steel. Bends are pretty cheap and poor quality, but this isn't a performance part.Installed with minor issues. One of the mounting posts had to be cut off, which is pretty common on pipes designed to fit multiple applications. I did have to trim the muffler end, but again, nothing new for replacement pipes.My one knock on this review has nothing to do with the part but instead on how it was shipped. I received my pipe in no box, just the pipe, halfway shrink wrapped with the label slapped right on the pipe. As you can imagine, the cross country shipping trip beat the hell out of this pipe - scratches, dings and a major dent on the outlet end.

had a nightmare of a time with my 2000 Jeep Cherokee and finding the correct exhaust system. seems they changed things in January of 2000 so anything before 1/20/2000 was made one way, anything after took a different style - and then there was either the California emissions or the federal emissions systems versions of each. turns out the previous owner didnt know which one to use - so he created a rather a frankenstein-like combination of them.i was able to piece together a working exhaust sytem and this tail pipe was the easiest part to install, by far. i was able to put it right on, no fabrication or adjustment needed. plus the shipping was fast and the price was great! i am very happy with it. my XJ is breathing better and sounding better than ever thanks in part to this. so 5 stars!
