In the end, the pipe worked. However for my application, 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 Megacab diesel, the hanger was on the wrong end. I had to cut it off and weld it to the correct position. Not a big deal if you are equipped to do that. The muffler does have a hanger on each end, so I suppose I also could have used the pipe as is and just not used the extension pipe hanger.
